New Acquisitions
Tuesday
Razor: Gillette Bar Handled New
Blade: Gillette SharpEdge (Yellow)
Brush: Rooney 3/1
Pre-Shave: Kell's Original Turkish Mocha Pre-shave Soap
Soap: Trumpers Almond Soap
A/S: Pre de Provence ASB
I picked up several news items off the B/S/T last week including a Rooney 3/1, Trumpers Almond Soap, and a Gillette Bar Handled New and decided to use them for this morning's shave. The Trumpers Soap is as good as advertised and the new (to me) Rooney 3/1 whipped up an abundance of sweet smelling lather. I received a very close shave although I did pick up two nicks and a bit of razor burn. After using an injector yesterday, I was likely bearing down too hard this morning. The PdP Balm was very soothing.

Omega 10066
Fitjar Shea Pleasure cream
Fatboy w/Crystal
Clinique PSH
Rosehip seed oil
Taylor's no. 74 Lime
No more Bic Sensitives for me. Yesterday's shave was uncomfortable most of the day. Back to smooth, comfortable, easy shaves with the Fatboy. One of my DEs will be accompanying me in my travels next month.

Razor: Merkur - Travel 985 - Open Comb
Blade: Treet - Platinum
Brush: Omega - 640
Cream: TOBS - Rose
Aftershave: D.R. Harris - Pink & D.R. Harris - AS Milk
Cologne: L'Artisan - Fou d'Absinthe - EdP
I'm wearing tails this evening. So I'm cracking open my new bottle of d'Abinthe cologne. Somewhat appropriate for the occasion. Dark and clandestine settings and all.

Tuesday Shave
Tuesday, October 20, 2009
Razor: Merkur Futur
Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
Soap: Cella
Brush: Vulfix VS/5 Boar
A/S: Ogallala Bay Rum, Limes, and Peppercorns
Mama Mia--what a nice shave with Cella! The first time I used Cella I wasn't sure that I liked it, but now it's a favorite of mine. The Vulfix boar seems to be almost fully broken in, and whipped up a very rich and creamy lather. Topping all this off was one of my favorite after shaves with its subtle, yet intoxicating scent.

Re: Tuesday Shave
Yeah, Nick, I agree; Cella is really nice, kinda different from what you would normally expect from a soap, but different in a good way.Nick Freeh wrote:Tuesday, October 20, 2009

Tuesday:
Gillette TV SS & Swedish Gillette blade
Simpson Duke #2 Best
Coate's Almond shave cream
Clinique PSH
Trumpers Wild Fern
No, I've not run out of the Harris's Pink, not quite yet anyway. But it became clear that what I have was not going to make it, unaided, to Thanksgiving when I plan to restock in NYC. So, I picked up the PSH at Nordstroms yesterday. It seems slightly heavier than I remember it, but that's probably just a trick of memory. It still absorbed pretty quickly, leaving no residue or 'film' on my face. I still think it's good stuff....even if it is from an outfit like Clinique.
