Monday Shave

Monday, November 2, 2009

Razor: E. J. Chatsworth
Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
Brush: Vulfix 2006 Pure Badger
Soap: Cyril Salter
A/S: Dickinson’s Witch Hazel, followed by Pinaud Vanilla splash

An excellent shave this Monday morning. A few swirls of the brush, and I had more than enough soap for three passes plus a touchup. I like to bowl lather, especially in cool weather, because it makes it easy to warm the lather. Cyril Salter works just as well for face lathering, though.

The WH/Pinaud Vanilla provided an exceptionally nice finish. I’m ready for what life throws at me today!

Monday

Razor: Merkur 34C
Blade: Iridium Super
Brush: Shavemac D01 Horn
Pre-Shave: Kell's Original Turkish Mocha Pre-shave Soap
Soap: TSD Vanilla
A/S: Trumper's Spanish Leather

Joanna makes the best smelling soaps around. Today I lathered up with TSD Vanilla and got a nice slick lather from my Shavemac brush. The Vanilla scent was so vibrant and intoxicating, it was as if I was sniffing directly from a bottle of Pure Vanilla extract. Very Nice! I enjoyed an outstanding shave and the Spanish Leather is one of my favorite aftershaves.

Omega 10066
Lady Gillette
Taylor's Rose cream
Poor Man's Pink
Rosehip seed oil
Taylor's no. 74 limes

Didn't shave yesterday and it was a bit of work hacking through the extra growth...but the results were simply lovely.

I had enough dense lather leftover to do many more passes, but down the drain it went. Guess I can use less cream. Bowl lathering continues to be superlative.
