Tuesday Morning:

Hot Shower/Proraso Glycerin Cleansing Bar/Hot Towel
1955 Gillette Flare Tip Super Speed
Swedish Gillette (Shave #1)
Vulfix #18 Boar
Van Der Hagen Deluxe SS
P&G Old Spice A/S
Vaseline IRML Lotion

The Van Der Hagen soap is such a great performer and dirt cheap too. You couldn't ask for a more reliable soap in terms of performance and local availability. You can get it for about $2.50 a puck at Wal-Mart or Rite Aid. If worse came to worse and no local stores around you have it, drugstore.com is a great source as well. Got a nice smooth shave with the Super Speed/Swede combo and the Old Spice, as usual, provided a great finish. Until next time.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

scritchy old butterscotch Rooney
1941 Ranger/Iridium
old no name SS(really excellent)
Pitralon(German version)
TGQ Cavendish Black' extrait

Last three shaves have been with the same razor/blade combo. This Ranger is so unlike other superspeeds.........I really like this one. Very close and comfortable shaves, especially on my neck(always a bonus).

No idea why this razor works as well as it does, but I woulda never figured it to be so darn pleasant to use.

Tuesday evening:

Hot shower

Razor: Merkur Futur

Blade: Derby extra (# 1)

Brush: Sephora Badger

Soap: L'Occitane Cade

AS: Old Spice

First shave with a Futur. In spite of my clumsiness, being a newbie, I had my best shave yet. On the other hand, every new shave is the best shave yet

Rolls Razor
Clearly Natural glycerin soap
Ever Ready boar

Took the Rolls to the hone again last night for another set of pyramids, and today's shave was even sharper. For the first time, no other razor touched my face.

Tonight, I'll do another set of pyramids on the hones and then strop the heck out of it...

Good Wednesday morning all...

Gem Featherweight w/ Personna Gem
Semogue 2009 LE #19
Tabac ss
Dickinson's WH
Speick a/s
Musgo Real a/s balsam
Floris Vetiver Edt

A DFS with the Featherweight this morning. The Tabac is always great but I find that the Gem irritates during and even after the shave despite the ministrations of the witch hazel and the Musgo balm. Still, I feel great and smell good too!

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

old scritchy butterscotch Rooney
fatboy/Iridium
old no name SS
Pitralon AS(German version)
TGQ 'Leatherneck' extrait

Man, this old soap has gotta be about the best stuff I've ever used. Great cushion and very slick lather, plus the faint scent reminds me of the ocean. Post shave skin care rivals my IK........reminds me of the old Floris. Heh, I hope to get one or two more shaves from what's left. I got about 30 shaves from the original small puck.
