Matt,
The vintage Aqua Velva bottle is a gem! Nice find.

Razor: Merkur Futur
Blade: Kai (Thanks Jerry)
Brush: Simpson's Ehsan
Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Soap: Penhaligon's English Fern
A/S: Royall Lyme

This was my second use of the Kai blade and I have been impressed so far. I enjoyed another irritation free BBS shave. I finished the shave off with one of my neglected aftershaves...Royall Lyme. This makes a great summer aftershave and I really ought to use it more often.

Simpson Emperor 2, 2-band
Trumper's Rose Shave Soap
Moss Scuttle
Merkur Classic 33G
Merkur blade
H. Bronnley AS

The Merkur blade is not the smoothest blade out there but it didn't do any damage. Seems like they skimped on the coatings.

The good days keep coming.

Gillette "Fat Handle" Tech
Super Iridium
SR 3722
D.R. Harris Lavender Shave Cream
D.R. Harris Pink

This is the first shave I have ever had that I would have to label under the "Something Special" category. For some reason it just was, on more than just Shavegeek levels. I am not sure but I think the D.R Harris Cream may be some of the older stuff. It is harder than both my Trumpers and TOBS. The purple cream chunks stuck to the side of the bowl and the bush didn't appear to be scraping much of it off. But still like I said, just a special shave.

Nate, That sounds like the older Harris's cream. It's easy to tell though; their old cream came in a pot with ridges on the lid, just like the Trumper pots. The newer stuff is in smooth sided pots.

Gordon, it is in the smooth pot, so hmmm... I did add some water on the top just to see hew it would react and it is taking it rather well; you know keeping its color and the texture on top is getting a little softer without getting runny.

Nate, Really?....interesting. A newer specimen that sounds for all the world like a somewhat aged pot of the old stuff. I have two pots of the old version and while they are certainly quite firm, they are still at the stage where they will fully dissolve, more or less.

Friday

Hot shower/Proraso pre/post
Tech head/New bar handle
SuperMax Superplatinum #2
Penworks finest
Nivea shaving cream
Proraso pre/post

I'm impressed with SuperMax Superplatinum; I think is the smoothest blade I ever shaved with, but also sharp enough.
