"New" EJ89L Razor/New Head
Does anyone have any experience with the "New" EJ89L? EJ advertises a new, improved head. The English Shaving Company has a great buy on them.
Thanks,
Ed

Is this the least expensive source for a complete razor with this head?

The only problem is that their minimum shipping charge is high, which encourages various acquisition disorders.

Paul, The English Shaving Company has free shipping through the beginning of December. You might want to give it a look.Pauldog wrote:Is this the least expensive source for a complete razor with this head?

They do indeed Paul. They run this promotion periodically and with subtracting the VAT it makes it quite affordable. You can either pay in US Dollars at the rate they list, or use a no fee Credit Card (like Capital One) and pay in either Pounds or Euros at the current rate. All of my Trumper stuff has been purchased here during a free ship promotion. Shipping to Denver, Colorado, USA takes between 8-12 days, so you cannot be in a hurry to get the stuff.Pauldog wrote:They ship for free to the USA?

I finally got a Jagger DE89L. I swapped a Gillette red tip for it, and it was mailed to me from France around Dec. 10. It arrived earlier today, after kicking around various postal services of the world, apparently. I had been sweating a bit, but I thought the most likely explanation had to do with mail and Customs rather than the member I was trading with.
I was too sleep-deprived to shave today, so I don't have anything more to report yet.

Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity, but don't rule out malice.
I tried my EJ for the first time today, with several days of stubble, and I was amazed. I used an unmarked blade I think is an American Personna, one that had some shaves on it, and it felt as though I could not cut myself without trying very hard to do so. The shave was very close, and it was easy to keep a good angle. It was even safe on the back of my neck, and normally I only trust an injector on that tender area.
The only thing I'd change is to try some other handles. The black handle it came with seems just a bit slippery.
I think I would be safe even with a fresh Feather blade in this razor.
Even though I favor one-piece razors, this razor, the Gillette NEW, and the slant bar often keep me away from my TTO's.
