You may notice that the TOBS Eton College and St James are missing from the top shelf, even though you read of me buying them; they are on death row awaiting my persuasion of the household videographer to film me dealing with them with a 12 bore side by side sidelock shotgun, choked improved and modified (1/4 and 1/2 for you colonials). I'm thinking #6 shot should shatter them properly. I'm willing to take votes for execution with a Winchester 30-30, an M1 Carbine, or a Hawken .50cal muzzle loader. Possibly just the blackpowder itself? Sadly, she doesn't like either firearms or loud bangs, so don't get your hopes up too much.

The less bloodthirsty will be concentrating on the fact there are three wooden bowls at the bottom unaccounted for. Donations of rare and valuable soaps will be gratefully accepted!

I was more concerned that the bowls on shelf five (from the top), fifth row from left are not lined up properly. Despite this, it is truly a wonderful collection, worthy of a mighty physician.

I do recall seeing a previous picture of your collection some time ago, but this one really takes it up another notch. A very nice collection indeed, but time to add a picture of your razors, strops and hones to complete the story.

Way more than my lifetime, Michael. You haven't see the stocks that lie in a spare room either. Several kilo's of soaps, dozens of tubs of cream, and at least one hundred pucks of a discontinued shaving soap of which I hold all the remaining world stock! Also several lifetimes of DE blades, Feather Artist blades, and a few hundred straight razors.

My efforts to dry out some old stock, no longer available creams have been a dismal failure so far. A couple of months with the lids off and they still seem as fresh as the proverbial daisy. The pots with no lids in the freezer need to be assessed one of these days. I am hoping to turn some of my stocks of ancient and NLA creams into firm soap-like substances that would fill the remaining shelf.

The Shelves of Shame represent current, daily use products. The Ready-Use locker of a well arranged vessel, if you will. Naturally, there should be further supplies and alternatives stored in the hold.

But I do confess I am looking forward to the day when I might shoot the wretched modern TOBS scents. "Run out the guns, Mr Bush!"

One puck of hard soap usually lasts me six months. Therefore, by my reckoning, Chris, you're good to go through the year 2050, at which time I should be dead...at least the actuaries think I will be...so whom am I to judge! Wishing you a long and happy shaving career...and the full use of all 78 pieces of soap...

SWMBO is looking very worried and asks if it is legal. Would you rather sprinkle it on the driveway instead of the nearly useless dilute form of Roundup? I asked and she perked up considerably. I'm still hoping for a big bang.
