*SOLD* Thäter 4125-4 Silvertip Brush

Post by JimR »

This Thäter 4125-4 brush was received new as part of a trade. It has been used about ten times. It has shed 3 hairs to my memory. It has considerable backbone and a lovely soft feel. It's the best badger brush I've ever used, but I am getting a two-band and I don't need two such high level brushes.

The Thäter measurements are 30mm knot and total height of 116mm. Who am I to argue?

These brushes retails from the Different Scent for 198 Euros. The trade value was roughly 125 Euros. I am asking US$115, including insured express shipping worldwide.

Please PM with questions.

Thanks for your attention.

Jim,

That's a beautiful brush! Is it akin to the line that Bernd offers? They look strikingly similar...and everyone know what wonderful brushes Bernd sells!

Good luck on your sale!

Beautiful brush and a good price. I have a smaller version of that brush and it's wonderful. Good luck with the sale!

Crag, By "Bernd", do you mean Shavemac? They are two different manufacturers with two different products. I have used one Shavemac brush, and it was very soft and floppy. This is the antithesis to that--firm and strong, with an excellent amount of "massage" to it.

+1 on Jim's observations about the Thäter silvertips. Considering the 4125/4 sells for $175 new, this is a fantastic deal.

If I didn't have a Thater on the way right now, this would've been mine.

Gil, I can tell your hand is shaking. The temptation is strong....

I know that brush is sold, but if loft is 56mm then handle height is 60mm, since it listed as overall 116mm. I hope my math is correct.

One would think so! On the other hand, Thäter's specifications routinely overestimate the total height of the brush by ~6 mm or so. Having owned a couple myself (including a size 4), I find that BullGoose's measurements are the ones that are true to life. Can't trust the manufacturer.

Sorry for the side conversation Jim.

Alex, using my calipers, I measured the handle at 52mm and the loft at 63mm, so the overall height of this brush by my measurement is 115mm give or take.
