Wednesday Morning:

Hot towel face prep
Vitos SIS (still trying to use it up- but there's a good dent in it)
Muhle R41
Vintage Wilkinson Sword "Edge" (4)
Bay Rum

I'm still very much in deep like with this razor. 2 passes for a BBS. One problem... I didn't rinse the razor before shaving near my nose and misplaced the corner of the blade (you know where this is going) a small cut ensued. I never did that before, don't care to do it again, and all because I didn't rinse the razor.

Other than that a typical fantastic shve from this razor and blade.

Wednesday, February 8, 2012 - GEMruary!

Prep: Hot shower; Yardley bath bar
Coffee: Locally roasted Panamanian w/ cream
Lather: De Vergulde Hand "Extra fris" - face lather
Brush: Vie-Long 13061 horsehair
Razor: Gem OCMM
Blade: TP Gem PTFE (5); 3 passes
Post: Cold water rinse; Krampert's Finest Bay Rum

Happy GEMruary! A month of the Gems with the 27th being the centennial of the 1912 patent. What a wonderful shave this morning. The DVH "Extra fris" is excellent. It lathers just as well as the original, just with a slightly different scent. I'm very pleased to have been able to get one of these. Another new item today is the Krampert's Finest Bay Rum. This was gifted to me (thanks again ShadowsDad) and it is fantastic. Excellent repair and moisturizing which I've never had from a bay rum before. I didn't even need my post shave moisturizer. My skin feels super soft and smooth with zero irritation.

Shave Rating - Splendidly Sublime! Another Single Blader! God Bless!

Gentlemen, it's a sparkling day here in Wisconsin with the temperature a comfortable 21 degrees. It feels like summer. Here is today's romp in the shave den:

Razor: Merkur 34C HD
Blade: Personna on its second tour
Brush: Simpson Duke 3
Soap: Taylor of Old Bond Street's Jermyn Street
Scuttle: Moss
Lather: Ayars bowl
Alum
Witch hazel: Thayers Super Medicated with Aloe Vera
Balm: Institute Karite
Aftershave: Taylor of Old Bond Street No. 74 Victoria Lime
Music: Cello Concerto by Sir Edward Elgar
Finisher: Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee and Raymond Chandler's pulp story Spanish Blood, which opens with: "Big John Master was large, fat, oily." What a dazzling opening.
