Gentlemen:
A heavy wet snow fell overnight here in the province, turning Schloss Obie into a snapshot from a fairy tale. I have spent much of the early morning hours with a pot of Guatemala Halapu coffee, gazing out the window and listening to music. Which reminds of the saying . . . "A true music lover is one who on hearing a blond soprano singing in the bathtub puts his ear to the keyhole."
Razor: Edwin Jagger Plaza DE in faux ivory
Blade: Feather
Brush: Semogue 830 boar
Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Scuttle: Moss
Lather bowl: Modified Ayars
Pre-shave: Castle Forbes
Astringent: Alum
Astringent: Thayer's Super Medicated with Aloe Vera
Balm: Institute Karite
Aftershave: Musgo Real
Music: Violin Concerto by Erich Wolfgang Korngold
Finisher: Well . . .

Friday morning:
Vitos SIS
Semogue 1438 boar
Gillette SuperSpeed (I don't see a date code)
Vintage Gillette "The Spoiler" (3)
Bay Rum
By now I should be getting easy 2 1/3 pass BBS', but this blade isn't cooperating. The shave is comfortable enough, just not up to my standard of an easily obtained BBS.
I'd be willing to bet that'll change with the next shave with this blade.

Soap: Proraso
Brush: Omega 10005

I didn't shave today (2-24-12) so I decided to go back to my first SOTD post on SMF from 10-20-2008 and post that one. The only thing I still love to use and use often is the CO Bigelow Witch Hazel Skin Tonic ---
Heavy Beard, didn't shave yesterday, didn't know how this was going to work out.
Nice hot shower.
ShaveSecret pre-shave, first time I ever thought about using it, new from Walmart yesterday.
Trac II. First time it's been used in at least 34 years. It belonged to my brother.
New Walmart cartridge.
Williams soap, with a quarter-size dollop of glycerin.
Tweezerman Badger Brush.
Topped it all off with my all time favorite, COBigelow Skin Tonic Witch Hazel Formula.
Had enough lather for more passes than I needed. Used the remaining lather to wash my face before applying the Bigelow's.
This is the best shave I've experiences in a long time. This is as close as I've come to what you gentlemen call a BBS. Who would have thought it?
Best Regards, Gary

Pre-shave soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Razor: Merkur Futur
Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
Brush: Vulfix 2234 Super
Soap or Cream: Taylor's Sandalwood Cream
A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Ogallala Bay Rum & Sandalwood Toner
TOBS sandalwood is a favorite cream of mine and, once again, it performed admirably this morning--nice lather, pleasant scent (for me), and a close and comfortable shave. The OBR&S toner provided an ideal finish--my face feels smooth and refreshed, and I'm ready for the day.
