Pre-shave soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Razor: Merkur Long Handled Progress
Blade: Rapira Swedish Supersteel
Brush: Vulfix 2006 Pure Badger
Cream: Palmolive Italian Menthol
A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Alt Innsbruck Splash

Great shave. Our unseasonably warm weather called for some cooling menthol, and the Palmolive cream and Alt Innsbruck answered that call very nicely.

Thursday, October 25th

Razor: Merkur Futur
Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium
Brush: Shavemac Beehive Prototype (Silver Tip)
Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Cream: Sultans Shaving Cream (Island Breeze)
Scuttle: Bill Bowl
A/S: La Toja Classic Scent

I used a few new products for this morning's shave -a Shavemac Prototype Beehive brush and Sultans Island Breeze shaving cream. I was very pleasantly surprised with the Sultans Shaving cream. It whipped up into a nice thick, slick and stable lather and I enjoyed an excellent shave. My only complaint has to do with the scent (a bit synthetic) but that is a YMMV issue. The cream itself is excellent.

The Shavemac brush did a fine job whipping up lather but I did have a little difficulty holding the handle. Although I did not drop the brush, it felt like a distinct possibility throughout the shave. I think it is just a matter of getting used to the ergonomics. Time will tell.

I enjoyed an excellent shave followed by a splash of La Toja. I am now ready for the day.

Shave Secret preshave oil
Becker scuttle
Somerset Simpson Colonel X2L Best (22/51)
Floris No. 89 shaving soap (vintage)
Feather AS
Balaka (1)
Floris No. 89 splash aftershave (vintage)

A good shave. The old shaving soap is marvelous, and the Colonel whipped it up well. The Balaka, which I had received free with something I bought on eBay and had never used before, was quite rough and seemingly somewhat dull from the git go. Not a good blade for 007!

Down in DC for work. I love the Trumper tubes. Creams last virtually forever and the Almond creams from the three T's never disappoint.
