Ancient Pinaud Hair Tonic....

Post by Craig_From_Cincy »

I had to post this on SMF. Over on B&B a member bought a bought a very old, unopened bottle of Ed Pinaud Hair Tonic:

It's a very cool old bottle to be sure. Unfortunately the buyer plans to dump this rare, unopened hair tonic and refill it with modern Clubman cologne:

To each his/her own, but it sure does seem a shame to simply pitch this tonic down the drain, not to mention that it makes for an expensive empty bottle.
Cheers,

Glass is so inexpensive. Two (fifty) Buck Chuck sells in a glass bottle. Mexican sodas sell in a glass bottle. Yet so many products are now sold in plastic. Yes, it's lighter, and cheaper, and it doesn't shatter into razor-sharp pieces, and it may be more environmentally friendly, and...

Anyway I wish products still came in bottles like this.

Yeah, I do too. I'm old enough to remember, as a kid, my hometown barber having Pinaud bottles shaped like that on the shelf. Now you're lucky if they have a plasitc shaker of Clubman Talc....sorry but we clearly have not 'advanced' as a civilization/culture in the past 50 years...bah!
