Slackskin, yes, but it appears to have been sold once again. From what we understand here at SMF, the so called 'resurrection' is on hold, if it even happens at all.

My package arrived to this side of the ponds! 4 lavender and 2 sandalwood. Yaaay! :D

Thank you very much, Andy!

The HBG came from another source, of course... nothing to do with this thread.

I like the HBG aftershaves...have Vermont and Sandalwood.

Wish I had the funds - yearning for some sandalwood and lavender Coates!!!

Got my Lavender a few days ago and am enjoying shaving again with my fave cream of all time. Got a tube of rose (lovely stuff) and a couple of almond (forgot how subtle that fragrance was).

Thanks!

By the way, anybody want to trade a tube of sandalwood or rose for almond? (then again, maybe I'll just order another batch!)

Wow. What a surprise. I don't come around much anymore but am bored at work and saw this. I couldn't resist getting 10 tubes. 4 rose, 4 lavender, 2 tea tree.

Thank you.
Best,
Scott

The only Coates I never tried is Sandalwood. What's the scent like? Real sandalwood or just in the ballpark? Or really different like Vulfix sandalwood?

Pay It Forward Offer:

I'd forgotten how faint the Coates Almond scent is, so I don't think I'll be using it. Rather than let this fine performer sit on my shelf, I will offer a full tube free of charge to an active member in the U.S. I'll pay shipping. PM me.

Dave, I think the Coats Sandalwood is about the best there is. T&H and Coates are my two favorites.

You have a PM, BTW.

Would someone be willing to send me a tiny sample of the Sandalwood? I've never tried it and might stock up, but would like to know what it's like first. Just a small blob, enough for one lathering.

Thanks Andy!

SOTD 9-7-13

Saturday

Prep: Hot Shower
Soap: Coates Lavender Cream
Razor: Magard MR1
Blade: Gillette 7 O’Clock Yellow SE
Brush: Omega 10066 Boar
Aftershave: Krampert’s Bay Rum

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit)

I used the Coate’s Lavender cream today. My tube was a bit dried out when I got it. I added some water and microwaved it to rehydrate it in a tub. Worked great! Excellent lather, cushion, and glide! My other 5 tubes were perfect. Andy knew this one was starting to dry out a bit and added an extra! These travel size tubes of Coate's Creams were/are a great deal at 6 for $18! I am also back with the Gillette 7 O’Clock Yellow SE blade. It was the first blade I tried. It is just as good and smooth as I remember. I didn’t nick myself this time around either. I must be getting a little better. I am also back with Krampert’s Bay Rum for my finish today. Love it! Kick back time!!

More coffee………..

Bob

Phil,
send Andy a PM and tell him what you're looking for or better yet send him a paypal and tell him in the notes. he's real good about getting the shipment out quickly.

By the way, how long does a tube of Coates typically last?

Dave, it will vary of course, according to how often you shave, and how much you use each time. I'd guess for an everyday cream it will last about two weeks or so?

Coate's Creams: http://www.coatescream.com/
Andy now has a web-site to make ordering easier.

I just re-stocked a couple Coate's Creams, the Lavender and Sandalwood. I used the Lavender this morning. As always, a little dollop provided a lot of great, thick, cushioning lather with good glide retention between passes. Along with the NEW and Med Prep, I got an excellent shave. I finished with a nice splash of Speick. My face feels great!
