Forgotten by whom, exactly? Certainly not SMFers!

That is a well written article. The guy did his homework. I learned some stuff. That's a good thing because I forget so much stuff.

The headline made me think it was an article on those a/s gone and forgotten:

Picked up a vintage bottle of Ice Blue last week, 2/3 full. Have used it a couple times. Asked SWMBO, "do you like it" The reply, "you smell like an old man" and my counter "but do you like it"

Her final answer, "yes"

I think the menthol level is just right and the aroma pretty darn nice.

This is the crucial point. We may smell like old men, but who said that has to be a bad thing?!

The one on the list I use regularly is AV. For some reason, perhaps the menthol, it's the only aftershave I use when I'm ill or very tired. I had been using Brut until a few months ago, but one morning I decided that I didn't like it anymore; don't really know why. I'll have to revisit Stetson and Clubman again and gauge my reaction. Old Spice really never did anything for me and I always found the scent heavy. Occasionally I'll come across a bottle and sniff the contents, but I've never had the urge to buy any. Didn't AS make a lime? I seem to recall that they did and that it was more to my liking than the regular.

Good article and thanks for posting it.

Aqua Velva made a Frost Lime, which is/was outstanding. I don't use much aftershave, so my original bottle is still not much below halfway full. I've had it a very long time, and tend to use it sparingly. I did secure a backup just in case. I don't associate it with shaving, it's more something one would "wear" on special occasions.

I have an old glass bottle of AV that is in my rotation. Unfortunately it is only about 10% full so I would like to get some more if any are still around. I went to ebay and it looked like most were of recent vintage. Some said they were old stock but I have gotten scammed there on fake perfume so I don't trust posters there any more.

Old Spice did make a lime scent as I recall back in the 80's.

Aqua Velva made these gift packs in the 70's which included
The Ice Blue,Leather,Lime and Moss.

Seems like I read the Old Spice Lime was still being produced in India.

One of our members posted a link to a vendor that sells Old Spice Fresh Lime aftershave. I got a bottle and like it a lot. Don't recall where but I will do a search and edit this post when I find it. I found it on ebay. You can get the current (India) version for under $10 with free shipping. A Classic version Is available in the original bottles for $14.xx also with free shipping to the U>S>
