New comer here, hello

Post by kennethj »

Hello all, I have been wet shaving since 2006, after many years with expensive cartridges and poor quality shave cream.

My razor is a Merkur HD Classic and it has been my only razor in 8 years.

For blades, I have used mostly Feathers for the last 2 years but have been experimenting lately with the 7 O'clocks green package.

For brushes I have only 2. A Saville Row which I think has a

24mm knot, and an Omega boar just for variety.

Creams, I have a lot, maybe 10. Mostly Trumpers, some Taylors, Musgo Real, and Proraso.

After shaves, I recently went on a binge and I am up to 10. Favorites are Spieck, and D.R. Harris Bay Rum.

Colognes. Went on a recent small binge. I now have Trumper's Spanish Leather, Alt Innsbruk, Musgo Real Lime and Basil, and Arran Aromatics Bay Citrus. Still looking for that cologne that will be special for me.

Hello again. And thanks for having me here.

Welcome to the forum!

Be careful! being on any shave forum can pass an illness on to you. I think it must come through the monitor, but some suspect the keyboard. It's called AD (acquisition disorder). There is RAD or razor AD, BAD or brush AD or blade AD, SAD or soapAD. You get the gist. Some folks seem to be immune, despite our very best efforts to pass an AD onto them. :D

Kenneth you mentioned having only two brushes. I've used primarily two for several years now and don't feel limited in the least.

I have used a number of soaps and i have Tabac and MWF in my rotation. I just find creams easier to lather.
