Coffee cups as shaving mugs
I know this is an old and honoured piece of toiletry. Today, by chance I bought a older cup in a lovely ivory to match brush and razor. Ah, the irony. I popped a fresh puck of Dittmars in the bottom and went to use my Wee Scot. Heloooooo? I know it's DOWN THERE Now I have a excuse to buy a fullsized brush from Bullgoose

Chris, one excuse is as good as another, I say. I'm sure Phil can recommend a few brushes that might meet your needs.

So which came first, the mug or longer handle brush.

We happy few who rise early to shave while others remain safe in bed; claiming a shred of manhood most skipped between turning 16 and retirement came first.

Retirement makes you realize how much time you wasted working.

Don't think I'll be using a coffee mug for shaving though, easy to confuse things early in the mornings.

I still use a cereal bowl with a handle. Have used it for 7 or 8 years now.

I used a large coffee cup today in place of my Moss scuttle because the Moss has been moved to an undisclosed location due to current circumstances. The coffee cup performed OK but not as good as the Moss.

Oh, in a pinch it will do, I've made them work in the past but would prefer not have to again.

It's curious, I found a .99 cup at the Salvation Army and feel as much pleasure as my more expensive kit gives. It's a older, Anchor Hocking cup that were so common in restaurants growing up. It matches my other faux ivory items and gives a pleasing symmetry to my bathroom countertop. I had to shave down my Dittmar's puck but a few minutes of repacking and a splash of distilled water overnight produced a glassy surface.
Now, if I can find 88,000 british pounds. There's a 1936 Phantom II Rolls Royce in Essex I desperately want. I'm sick of Toyotas that blow engines

Chris, I think you posted about this old car a while back. When I see these wonderful survivors of days gone by, it makes me sad.

This is another one. Rolls Royces actually have one of the best survival rates of all makes @ 50% I recall many years ago a National Geographic photographer in Jordan finding himself in one of T.E. lawrence's armoured cars from WW1. As for the dowager? I still have my standards
Re: Coffee cups as shaving mugs
These are a couple of mugs that I picked up at a pottery fair in Yokohama. I'm not sure if they're for coffee or soup. They're a little big for coffee, a little small for soup, but just right for a puck of Mama Bear's glycerin soap.
