Well I have had plenty of bantu beer, in fact maybe more than i should admit too and have never had any dire consequences from it.....or thats what id like to think anyway!!! And as far as becks goes......i cant imagine how far off the deep end you would have to be to want to put a becks in a skillet and warm it up.........they used to draw and quarter persons for lesser offences HAHAHAHAAHA

I see that today Amazon has the Lodge LCS3 Pre-seasoned Chef's 10-inch Cast-Iron Skillet on sale for $14.97, 44% off.

I seasoned a stainless steel sauté pan today. Usual method: hot pan, put in coconut oil, heat until smoking and make sure it spreads everywhere, then let it cool and wipe out with kitchen paper. Just like decently treated cast iron, it will remain non-stick as long as don't use detergent.

Ok, went to call Macys and they shipped it yesterday and it will be here Wednesday. Imagine that. So If i cancel it, I lose out on $10 in shipping charges. Amazon had the handle For $5.00 and it still was cheaper than at Macys and free Prime Shipping. Oh well, no biggie, I cancelled Amazons and can always go buy a silicon glove or something or just use a pot holder.

Or you could just use a kitchen towel which you probably already own. No big deal.

Sam, check your PMs.

I wonder what difference the various sizes make to most people.

And Chris, I've never heard of anyone seasoning something other than a wok or a cast-iron pan.

Russ, Chris is right about seasoning stainless steel. I saw a demonstration of exactly what Chris described on YouTube. In the demonstration they didn't use the word "season;" rather they said that they were making it non-stick.

Carbon steel skillets also require seasoning.

Murray, thirty years ago I got a genuine, hand-hammered, made in China wok (Sold by the guy Wally on TV! - I met him at the department store!) which had to be seasoned.

He mentioned that the build-up was pure carbon, but I don't recall the material of the wok.

Hand hammered would be carbon steel which is good stuff.

I was very pleased with mine. I used it a lot. But then I moved, and I had an electric range, which won't work with a wok, so I gave it away.

It should Sam. Just don't smash it onto it. Induction will work with CI also.
