Clothes of the past

Feel free to post anything unrelated to wet shaving or men's grooming (I.e. cars, watches, pens, leather goods. You know, the finer things of life).

Clothes of the past

Post by brothers »

Doing only what I want to do and of course what Mrs. brothers puts on my list. Tailored suits, qualilty dress shoes, barely-worn ties, fresh dress shirts. Rarely used now, mostly for going to funerals (more often now than before, that's understood) or rare special occasions. Otherwise just getting dusty. A new daily routine of a leisurely shower and shave, (or not!) wearing clothes that used to be reserved only for weekends and vacations. Every day is a beautiful gift just waiting to be filled with positive stuff. Keeping track of the day of the week and the time of day is simply irrelevant.

My take on it is life is great and at this stage has the added advantage of being master of my own time.

I have yet to wake in the morning wishing I had to go to the office. It's going on ten years now and I've never enjoyed life more; my time is mine and I answer only to SWMBO and the all mighty (or are they one and the same?).

I don't know anyone who wants their last words to be "wish I'd spent more time at the office".

Not to be morose -- but -- when they put you in the ground, your family will (hopefully) be there but the office acquaintances will probably not.

On a more positive note, I watch the traffic reports on TV and sometimes say aloud "those poor folks -- glad I'm not one of them."

We shall sip a dram of a nice single malt scotch Squire. Lowland, highland, or Islay, your choice as I like all of the variations within certain boundaries.

I'm even familiar with the bistros in Jackson, or was 15 years ago!

Perhaps we could convince Brothers to join us? Or even meet somewhere like Fort Smith for steaks and some good scotch and wine?

John, Squire, it's probably not likely to happen, but it is an honor to join you both in the raised glass of friendship.

I like to fly fish in National Parks. The Great Smokys are 6 hours away, Yellowstone 2 days.

I'm in the mood to visit Gatlinburg and thereabouts. Haven't yet had the opportunity. I did get to enjoy the Georgia pines of Ft. Benning at one point. I could easily go east.

I think you and yours will like the area Gary. I've been frequenting those parts for more than 30 years now. Great fly fishing streams and really friendly people. Pm me if you would like some info.
