Who still regularly uses 3Ts / DRH / Pens soap/cream
In my case, I have Taylors and Penhaligons in my active rotation. Traditional English classics seem to be spoken about much less frequently in the shaving forums and in social media sites these days because of massive changes taking place in the industry over the last few years.

It's true that there is not a lot of talk about them. But in my rotation the majority are classics, including Penhaligon's, Floris, and C&E. For me none of the modern soaps match them for quality.

I don't use them because the fragrances burn my olfactory.

TOBS shaving creams are at the core of my cream rotation and TOBS aftershaves are at the core of my AS rotation. Trumper shaving creams and aftershaves are next in line. When it comes to aftershaves, however, Harris Arlington is my primus inter pares.

Until recently when I decided to use up all my creams before buying more, I had Taylors, Trumpers and T&H in my rotation. I have exhausted all of them but they will eventually be replaced. T&H Almond is a favorite along with Trumper's Rose.

I regularly use T&H Almond cream and Taylor's Sandalwood in my rotation. I am very low in both right now as I have used up all my stash. Need to buy some more and I've been looking at some alternatives as I have read that quality has dropped since I last purchased? Thoughts?

Dave, l think the quality of Taylors has stayed high. Their creams perform well and are at a lower price point than the other T's. Another one that is really good is St. James of London, a Creighton product. It comes in a nice glass jar at about $25.00. I enjoyed it. I used the Lavender & Geranium scent.

Oh sure, in that group I would also include Harris Almond.

TOBS creams are still one of the tops for me. I'm looking forward to starting a new tub of Lemon and Lime just as soon as my current DRH soap finally gives up the ghost.brothers wrote:In my case, I have Taylors and Penhaligons in my active rotation. Re: Who still regularly uses 3Ts / DRH / Pens soap/cream
I use TOBS and T&H almost exclusively. Do throw in a Tabac, Pens creams once in a while. Have tried several artisan creams and soaps and just did not like them as well as I do the 3Ts.
Re: Who still regularly uses 3Ts / DRH / Pens soap/cream
I have read that T&H has discontinued their Lavender and Rose creams, and the Almond was discontinued for a while but is now back in stock. I checked the T&H North American website, and the Lavender and Rose are only available in the tubes, evidently selling out their current stock.

TOBS makes a "Natural" shave cream that has no fragrance at all. If you want unscented, this is a good choice. Performance is as good as the other TOBS creams.

I'm a big fan of DR Harris Marlborough and Windsor soaps, as well as Pen's Sartorial soap and BB cream - use them regularly, and never grow tired of them.

The dandy and rake soaps and scents are definitely up there in their goodness. For me, being the lazy person that I am, its too much work to make a nice latherMarlborough and Windsor soaps

Marlborough is my favorite, but the lathering drama was disappointing.fallingwickets wrote:The dandy and rake soaps and scents are definitely up there in their goodness. For me, being the lazy person that I am, its too much work to make a nice latherMarlborough and Windsor soaps

I'm a shaving stick man myself and I don't think you can beat D R Harris shaving sticks for scent or performance, but I prefer tallow products anyway. I even make my own Woolfat shaving sticks, which work superbly. I do use T & H creams sometimes, as far as creams go they're pretty damn good.

After having strayed away trying out the next new star I came back to Harris and MWF (and Cella ) as my go to soaps. As for creams I prefer Trumper's due to the scent.
