I mainly use vintage blades. But of the currently available blades, my choice is the Polsilver SI. I also like Supermax Super Platinums and Supermax Tigers. For some reason I haven't been tempted to try any modern Gillettes, and Feathers are too harsh for me.

Polsilver SI is my favorite blade. I've gotten them from Bullgoose and Italian Barber which are both trusted sources. Feathers, I get on Amazon. However, I had a bad experience ordering what I though were Med Preps on Amazon, but ended up being Lab Blues. West Coast Shaving has Med Preps, I believe.

Hi Basil, I saw your post about Astra blades being your favorite. I just tried my first one and it was the one in the green and white package. I was surprised at how smooth and sharp it was and how long it lasted. The only drawback was that I cut myself often and it might be because it is so smooth I got careless. I am now comparing it to a Feather blade. The Feather blade is sharp but not as smooth, however I don't cut myself with the Feather. I use a Merkur Vision on the most aggressive setting.

1. What is the difference between Astra blue and white vs. Astra green and white?
2. Do you find that you cut yourself more with an Astra?
3. Have you ever tried a Feather blade and if yes, how do you think the Astra blade compared to the Feather?

Thanks,
Steve
