Edwin Jagger XL synthetic
Homemade mentholated lime soap
Rockwell 6S, plate 4
Gillette Platinum blade
Homemade Lime-Wood aftershave

Maybe a bit overdone on the menthol, but I dig this soap on its 2nd use. Avena sativa oil, avocado butter, oat extract, marshmallow extract, and a couple other skin goodies, plus it lathers very well.
Regards,
Tim

Edwin Jagger XL Synthetic
Homemade vetiver fern soap
Rockwell 6S Plate 4
Gillette Platinum blade
Homemade Douglas Fir splash
Comme des Garcons Vettiveru

Plate 4 on the Rockwell with a Gillette Platinum is simply superb. The best DE shaves I have ever enjoyed.

Tim

Shavemac 2-band silvertip
Homemade vetiver fern soap
Rockwell 6S, Plate 4
Gillette Platinum blade
Homemade Douglas fir splash
Guerlain Vetiver

Really great, although I am coming to the conclusion that this silvertip - as good as badger gets, objectively - is just not giving me what I want out of a shave/lather.

Tim

Friday AM 2019-05-10

Ayars (Bonnyman) Waterfall Lathering Bowl
Rooney Polo 2 Ivory Finest (28/60)
Sebum Gold shaving soap
Wolfman WR1-SB Antique Bronze/Darwin
Wilkinson 'Light Brigade' (13)
Sebum Gold serum
Trumper Portugal EdT (vintage)

This was my first use of the Sebum products. The soap required a lot of water and time to make adequate lather in the bowl. (This may differ with scuttle use.) The lather had excellent cushion and fairly good glide, and it left my skin feeling moisturized and quite smooth and soft. The serum felt greasy on my hands but seemed to be absorbed into my facial skin pretty well, and it further softened the skin. Since I rarely get any skin irritation, which is handled well by splash aftershaves, I'm not at all sure the serum is a necessity. I don't really like their musky fragrance very much, but that may change with time. Overall I was generally pleased with the results of the shave but not tremendously impressed, and I'm left thinking that for me the software is quite overpriced. But this was just a single use, and no doubt my views will be moderated with further experience over time. I'll comment more then.

Semogue Taj Mistura
Homemade vetiver fern ss
Rockwell 6S Plate 4
Gillette Platinum
Homemade Douglas fir splash

Simply stunning how well this blade performed on day 7 in this razor. I'd have thought it was a new blade if I didn't know better.

Tim

A repeat of yesterday other than the brush.

Simpson 58 Best
Vetiver fern soap
Rockwell 6S Plate 4
Gillette Platinum blade
Douglas Fir splash

Good, but day 1 of these GIllettes is not as good as subsequent shaves. I will consider trying to ride this one beyond 7 shaves, which I don't do with any of my other blades.
Regards,
Tim
