Smooth and comfortable DFS of face and dome. The open comb scalloped head easily mowed down two days’ whisker growth. The handle is much too long for my taste (4”), but the head is an effective design. I think my shave would have been closer with a shorter handle. So I switched to a RR Bulldog handle for tomorrow’s shave.

SOTD 11/12/19

RAZOR: Yaqi Grace (scalloped head and open comb.
BLADE: Voskhod
PRESHAVE: Cold water rinse followed by scrub w/ PAA’s Charcoal-Menthol Preshave Soap
BRUSH: Omega Pro48 Boar
SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash and rinse w/ MWF followed by RR 888 Eucalyptus and Tea Tree AS Tonic

The play (a community theatre thing, me in charge of SFX and music) is over, finally, so now I get to shave in the evening again.
\:D/
SOTN Tuesday
rasor - RazoRock Hawk
blade - KAI Captain Titan Mild (17)
soap - TOBS Mr. Taylors
brush - Simpson Special 1
post - warm water rinse, "Pure & Natural" Alum stick, cold water rinse
AS - Brut
music - streaming North Sea Surf Radio

I gotta say, shaving during daylight hours seems unnatural to me.

As I suspected, when I switched out the Yaqi 4” handle for my 3.25” Bulldog, which I’m quite used to, I ended up with a 2 pass BBS of both face and head. Love that scalloped head coupled with the open comb. In addition, I finally found a scentless AS that my new wife of 4 yrs can tolerate. My first wife loved all my AS’s, but the new one is fragrance-sensitive and gets migraines. I feel smooth, clean and refreshed!

SOTD 11/13/19

RAZOR: DLC-Yaqi head w/ RR Bulldog handle
BLADE: Voskhod
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub w/ PAA’s Charcoal-Menthol Cube Pre-shave soap
BRUSH: Omega Pro48 Boar
SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Face and noggin wash w/ MWF followed by Thayers Lavender Witch Hazel and finished with Fine Snake Bite AS Splash

Wednesday AM 2019-11-13

Moss Anniversary Slate scuttle
Simpson Somerset Chubby 3 Extra Super (Manchurian) (30/62)
Harrods by Floris shaving soap (tallow)
Wolfman WR1-SB Mirror-Polished 0.80/WRH1
Gillette Platinum 'Swede' (9)
Col. Conk Almond aftershave balm

A great shave. The old brush has less backbone than my Rooney Finests but enough to make lathering of the soap quite easy. The razor probably would be too aggressive for me with just about any other blade, but with the Swede it was excellent.

I realize I should probably keep shaving with my Rex Ambassador, but there are just so many razors, and not enough time!
In any case, my R41 spoke to me this morning. I switched the Bulldog handle for a Barber Pole handle, and the rest is history! Great two pass BBS on my face and a DFS for the noggin scrape with a minor weeper on the back of my head. Very pleased with the shave and the razor. I feel clean, smooth and refreshed, and ready for a great day!

Took the Yuma and my new DFS Charity Brush for a spin this morning. Completed only a two pass DFS face shave, but nothing to write home about. The razor performed adequately, but the brush exceeded expectations.

SOTN Friday
razor - Edwin Jagger DE87
blade - QShave Titanium (1)
soap - Williams Mug
brush - Stirling 2-Band Synthetic
post - warm water rinse, "Pure & Natural" Alum stick, cold water rinse
AS - Pinaud Clubman
music - streaming Gem Radio New Wave
.
Results: Terrific. Very close and no irritation.
The last time I tried a QShave blade (from the same pack that came with the Futur clone) my first shave with it was great too. Possibly the best ever, compared to any other blade. The second shave was okay, but after the third or fourth shave I had to toss it because it was too rough.
Usually I can manage 20-30 shaves from a blade.
I'm curious to see if I can do any better with this second QShave blade.

Got involved over the weekend in a discussion of Krona razors in another forum. During that discussion I realized I had not touched my Krona since August when the original broke and I began shaving again with my back up. Well thanks to another friend on a different board, I was finally able to obtain my gold Centennial Krona. So today I decided to shave with it. It was like going home. I didn’t realize until halfway through the shave that I was totally an automatic once I felt the familiar Krona shape in my hand. 50 years with a razor will do that to you. The actual face and head scraping part of my shave used to take about five minutes on the face and about the same on the dome. Today I finished both in about four minutes. I don’t remember the specifics but I was truly on automatic. My old friend delivered a DFS on both head and face. I’m clean and refreshed and ready for the day!

SOTD 11/17/19

RAZOR; Gold Centennial Krona
BLADE: Voskhod
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by face and head scrub with PAA’s
Unscented w/ 3 drops of M-Bomb
POSTSHAVE: Cold water face and head wash with Donkey Milk residue from brush followed by Thatchers Lavender Witch Hazel and finished w/ Fine Snake Bite AS Splash

That's an especially nice-looking Krona, jgreenepa. Glad you found such a nice replacement for your old one.
