Thiers Issard Straightrazorplace special edition #73, homemade soap, Simpson PL8, Trumper's Spanish Leather:

The razor must have been issued about 2004 or 2005. TI were already selling razors with laser etched shanks rather then the old stamped shanks, and plainly they had the equipment given the markings on the blade. Perhaps they were happy to move out some old stock for a group buy. The boxwood scales are laser cut with the word 'Straightrazorplace' and the reverse of the blade has more laser etching:

Old Thiers Issards made with Sheffield steel were pretty nice shavers and this one performs just as you'd want.

SOTD MONDAY, AUGUST 3, 2020

Affective tonality of the shave was consistent! Fear and trembling during the three pass (WTG, ATG, XTG) straight shave resulting in a very rough CCS which the Gold Rocket cleaned up and moved into BBS territory. My dome shave required three passes (WTG, ATG, ATG) to achieve velveteen victory. The Rocket razor is nowhere near as efficient as the earlier New Standard, Deluxe, and LC or my select rotation of seventeen safety razors. In any case, I feel cool, clean and velveteen, albeit with a bit more shaving effort on my part,

RAZOR: Genco 35 (Mug), British Gillette Gold Rocket
BLADE: Suneko (8)
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Rabid Banana Preshave Cube
BRUSH: Alpha Shaving T-400 Tribute w/ 26mm Two Band Badger Ferrule
SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat w/ 6 drops of M-Bomb
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH and Osage Rub. Finished with Krampert’s Frostbite and Cremo Cooling Balm.

Monday SOTN - Further exploration of the PIF contents.
razor - QShave Adjustable (Futur clone)
blade - Shaverboy Stainless Steel (4)
soap - Tabac (new to me)
brush -APShaveCo Tuxedo knot in a Barbershop handle
post - styptic pencil, warm water rinse, "Pure & Natural" Alum stick, cold water rinse
AS - Avon “Wild Country Aftershave Conditioner" (new to me)
music - CHMA-FM 106.9 campus radio

That Tabac is great stuff. Wonderful creamy tallow lather, okay scent. It might be tied for first place with MWF for my favourite soap. It was a shapeless lump that looked like it was bitten off a refill puck, so I switched my usual stainless bowl for a stoneware bowl with a spiral textured bottom, and ground it dry into the bowl before working it with the wet brush. Definitely gonna get me more of that, and get it with the ceramic tub.
Image

Shaverboy blade is still good, but I got careless with the QShave razor (set to 4) and gave myself a cut under my bottom lip. Nothing that styptic couldn't sort out.

The Wild Country AS conditioner was pretty good. SWMBO thought it smelled like baby powder, but I didn't get that. Maybe a "baby cowboy powder" with a bit of leather. It seems to smell different to different people. “A barbershop fougere”, or a "powdery Brut"?
Sadly, it is the last of the "new to me" aftershaves from the PIF box.

Razor: Tradere 1st Gen OC

Blade: Personna Super Platinum Chrome (40)

I binned the Personna SPC after 40 shaves; took a Personna 74 blade to 40 shaves as well. Excellent blades.

Tuesday SOTN - Further exploration of the PIF contents.
razor - Canadian Pre-War Fat-handled Tech
blade - Shaverboy Stainless Steel (5)
soap - Cold River Soap Works' "Jardin d'Orange" (new to me)
brush -Stirling 2-Band Synthetic
post - warm water rinse, "Pure & Natural" Alum stick, cold water rinse
AS - Reuzel
music - dead silent, except for the whir of the ceiling exhaust fan

Result were great, a DFS.
The soap performed well with a bit of blooming, and did not irritate my face (the way Lime-scented soaps do). I think though, that it is a discontinued scent. I like the nice wide tin.
Shaverboy blade still good the 5th time. It even felt smoother than the last time.
Reuzel AS - as always, still in my top 4 favourites.

Thanks.
I was inspired by the fad of googling for "Florida man" plus your birthday. Hilarity ensues.
I did not get the Franklin Gothic typeface for the headline quite right.

Wednesday SOTN - Further exploration of the PIF contents.

razor - '46 Aristocrat
blade - Shaverboy Stainless Steel (6)
soap - La Toja (new to me)
brush - Simpson Wee Scot
post - warm water rinse, "Pure & Natural" Alum stick, cold water rinse
AS - Clubman Classic Vanilla
music - CHMA-FM 106.9 campus radio

Shaverboy blade is still good. I'ma gonna order me some of that tonight.

La Toja soap - Pretty good. It was about 20-30 g smushed into a small jar, so I didn't get to try it in its native stick form. It might be worth getting the stick for the container alone, and buying the refills as they get used up. I also wonder what other sticks would fit.

Thursday SOTN - Further exploration of the PIF contents.
razor - Edwin Jagger DE87
blade - Shaverboy Stainless Steel (7)
soap - Omega (new to me)
brush -APShaveCo 24 mm SynBad
post - warm water rinse, "Pure & Natural" Alum stick, cold water rinse
AS - Italian Barber "GIT"
music - CHMA-FM 106.9 campus radio

- Yet another painless BBS.

- The Shaverboy is still performing well. Good thing too, because I ordered a 100 pack last night.
- I think the "Omega" soap might be "Omega shaving cream with eucalyptus oil", but I did not smell much in the way of eucalyptus oil. Perhaps it was old enough to lose the scent. Even so, it performed well. I was able to form the shapeless lumps (with the consistency of stiff Plasticine) into a stick, and rubbed it onto my face, as one does with stick soaps. I'll have to find an empty glue stick container for it.
- As far as the "GIT" (for "Green Irish Tweed") AS goes, my first impression was "meh", but I dare say it is growing on me, so I used it tonight. I've got at least 90 ml of it.
Oh, hey, it appears that IB has replaced the product with "RazoRock Irish Countryside After Shaving Splash".

BTW - I got word back from Shaverboy on the description of their "Shaverboy Black & Brass safety razor". Then site says "The ultimate Shaverboy 3-piece razor, made with a full brass handle (three inch) & black-plated steel head".
The head is actually black-plated zamak. It's left over from a description of their previous offering, a TTO model.
