Hi All,
As many of you may know I like reading old magazines. One of the ads I get a kick out of seeing is the 4711 aftershave challenge:
I have to admit that the first time I saw this I gave it a go. The results were very satisfactory. I did go back to my standby bay rum but I do go through periods of using this as my aftershave and am quite pleased with it.
A little nostalgia for us, hope you enjoy.

Anything labelled '4711' (or any other citrus eau de Cologne) quickly gets appropriated by The Boss for her use.

No secret stash?
I could sneak you a rebottled lot via post marked "Honing Water".

She's got not only the 4711, but the older Farina (from 1709), Penhaligon's, Harris and Trumper EdCs. Honestly, any kind of echt Kölnische wasser crosses the event horizon of our doorstep, will be instantly drawn into the black hole. My appeasement strategy of buying her perfumes scented with her favourite gardenia has worked as well as Churchill promised. The crocodile regards me as weak and will eat my EdC first.

Is 4711 edc too harsh to use as an aftershave splash? There is an aftershave version, but I haven’t been able to find any.

Bryan, I use the straight cologne water and have no issues.
