inherited some Shaving Brushes. Looking for info
Recently inherited some shaving stuff and I'm looking for any info on what it is. It was going to be donated but I saved it.

Re: inherited some Shaving Brushes. Looking for info
The first is a Kent BK, which came in three sizes, 4, 8 and 12. Look on the bottom and it should say which it is. A soft brush, but surprisingly good with soaps.
The second is an older Simpson Persian jar, again this came in several sizes and yours is the smallest. It is made with "super Badger" hair, which was Simpson's term for silvertip.
Both are worth keeping and using, but you could easily sell them if you don't shave. If you wish to advertise them here, you must have 25 posts to your credit.

Next set: a Plisson and two Rooneys. All excellent brushes. You have the start of a good collection! Far too good to sell, in my view. If you are a wetshaver, you are all set. If not, stick around and learn how!

This is cool to find out. I had no idea collecting these was even a thing. Thanks for the Info
Re: inherited some Shaving Brushes. Looking for info
There are obsessive collectors, but even more important is using them! The sheer delight of whipping up some warm gorgeously scented lather, applying it with a good brush, and enjoying a close shave is a treat that far too many men have either forgotten or never experienced. It leaves your face refreshed and smooth, and you ready to face the day with confidence. There is a sense of connection with your forefathers, and the pleasure of acquiring a lost skill, which you can pass down to your sons.
From whom did you inherit them? He must have been a man of sensibility, to have such good taste in brushes. I wonder what became of his razors?
