1000 Member Raffle Updated 4/14. More prizes!

Post by Johnnie »

Gentlemen,

As you may know we are quickly approaching 1000 members. The administrators decided we needed to celebrate and reward you guys, the members. We contacted all of the Top Rated Vendors asking them for prizes to donate to a raffle. We received a great response. After all, the members are what drives this forum and their businesses. Everyone is invited to participate including moderators. Moderators are eligible as they are/were not involved in any decisions in regards to this raffle. Administrators are not eligible.

Instructions:

Add your member name and email address to this thread. That's it. If you wish not to use your email address for privacy issues, that's ok. As you add your name to the list I will add you to a numbered spreadsheet. Once we close the raffle, I will email Vince and Dr. Chris Moss the spreadsheet. They will have a family member pick a number between 1-? Depends on how many people we have sign up. They will let me know who the winner is and I will email the winner with all of the information. The vendors will ship the items to you direct. As of right now we have nine prizes for nine different members to raffle off.

Deadline

The deadline for the raffle will be Sunday April 16th, Easter. We've had 38 new members sign up since April 1st. At the rate we are going, we should have 1000 members by next Sunday. Winners will be posted and contacted on Monday.

Use a hat or something. No one ever picks the 1st and last number so they get eliminated.

This is terrific. Thanks to Johnnie and Vince and the other moderators for arranging this.

I'm not trying to be difficult -- honestly -- and I won't press the issue, but there are some of us members (lots of us?) who don't want our email addresses published in a public forum. The instructions for entering the contest appear to disqualify us. Isn't there some other way we can enter without publishing our email addresses for all the world to see?

I'd much prefer that a hat, or coin, or http://random.org/ was used to pick the number. People tend to do a bad job of picking truly random numbers.

Hi Dave, I would suggest signing up for one of the generic accounts at hotmail, yahoo or gmail. After the drawing, don't use the account anymore.

I understand about being random. As we get closer we will decide what will be best way to do this. It may be a hat. No worries guy. Trust me.
