Your photographs actually made me buy the soap. It is excellent in every aspect.rustyblade wrote:Lyrt! That beautiful Mitchell's pot AND a Feather AC!? Two of my favourites. Very nice picture and well done!
And what a shave it was! Some nice stuff in there. How do you like that Sintec brush? I have one for travel. It's nice, but I find it a bit floppy.khari wrote:Merkur Slant Bar with Feather blade

I tell ya, the Sintec brush amazes me. It's cheap so I feel no love for it like my Simpsons and Rooneys. But I'm beginning to believe it is actually easier to consistently reproduce a great lather mixture with it than with the others. I agree that is pretty floppy. At $7, I am willing to forgive it it's shortcomings.

TGR Balm is good! Use it sparingly though, very very expensive especially to use Canucks! You got off easy getting it second hand!blueasajewel wrote:Merkur Vision w/Derby Extra

Well tried Richard's dryer lather...not sure I had the absolute right consistency (perhaps a tad too dry) so I have to work on it a bit - but the result was very good. I'm also flipping on this TGR Balm!! Outstanding!
I'll be trying this combination for the balance of the week!

I haven't experimented much with Tabac in the past. I've had it a while now and had some very good shaves and not so good. This evening I kept the water content low and I whipped up a good strong lather. What amazed me is the slick appearance Tabac lather had even though it was "dryer." The soft, fine bristles of the BK8 turned it into something similar in texture to a thick cream. Very nice, best shave I've ever had from Tabac. Definitely worthy of a top 3 soap.

Red tip with Swede
Sabrooney finest
Marke Gold Dachs Rasierseife
Trumper's limes skin food
Trumper's Wild Fern EDC (last of sample)
Another morning, another strong soap lather, another great shave. Not a stellar shave, the soap doesn't quite fit with the Wool Fat, Tabac and Trumper's (oh, and Hand) echelon, but a great shave nonetheless despite the lack of tallow.

Vulfix 2233
C&E Sandalwood cream
Merkur HD
Derby blade (shave #3)
Feather "Kanwa" ASB
I was rushed this morning, and it showed. I bled from three spots. None of them serious, but still a low quality shave.
