For those not in the know, those labels look just like the old NYC subway tokens. The "Y" was actually a slot.

Yep. I added several of those to my coin collection when I was a kid.

Subway to...tok...tokens? Grampa whats a token, and why didn't people just use thier metrocards if they wanted to ride on the subway?
