I got a new razor

Let's talk about single and double edged razors and the blades that they use.

I got a new razor

Post by Reverend Jim »

I have been using Gillette long handled black adjustable for a while and I have Weishi and a Krona that see some use. All of them are good but are really starting to show their age. I just recieved a Edwin Jagger #86 with the black handle---the same head as the Muhle R89. It is really pretty but that is just icing on the cake. I can't believe how well this shaves for me. I won't say that the difference is night & day but it is really nice. I used the Gillette adjustable on 3 and usually got a good shave--if I went higher I was more prone to nicks no matter how much care I took. To me, the EJ feels more aggressive but not so dangerous if you know what I mean. I had put a new blade in the Gillette Tuesday and used it once---when the EJ arrived I took that blade and put it in the EJ. I was very pleased with the results. I only wish the handle were a bit longer.
Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity, but don't rule out malice.
