Mystery Brush

My mother gave this to me last week. She said it was in a box of my grandfather's old things. Considering how long ago he passed, this brush has to be at least 25 years old.

The bristles are hard to identify, but they are very stiff and packed less densely than I would have expected.

Anybody got an ID? Just curious, haven't even had a chance to use it yet.

Is there any reason to suspect it isn't boar bristle?

If it was made in Israel it's unlikely to be boar.

Well, this would make all of the 3rd or 4th brush I've ever held in my hand, so that's why I'm having trouble identifying it.

Thanks for the input, though.

no chance it is pig hair, and looks too old to be synthetic, although it is possible, probably horsehair, and a kosher barbers neck duster
