Gordon, your assumption is mostly correct, I live a couple of hours from London, was there yesterday, and brought home a 'few' goodies which I had to use right away when I got back home!

Had an interestering conversation with the sales woman in Floris as well; I was told there was an error during production of their shaving soaps a while back, in that the ingredients didn't 'blend' the way they were supposed to, hence the very poor lather we were experiencing from the No 89 shaving soap. I did pickup a refill of the JF (new batch I was told) and found it produced a lather almost as good as Trumper's does, with the Trumper's having a little more cushion, so I'm not as disappointed as last time!

Rasoline Shaving Cream
Merkur HD/Derby Extra
Thayers Witch Hazel w/Aloe

Another fine shave, having trouble pulling anything else at the moment despite my initial intentions and depth of product in the drawer.
Good shaving,

Sonntag

Continuing with the HD and the German Wilkinson.
Decided on Williams soap but the thinning puck would not stay still for the brush. So I popped it out and used it like a shave stick. Face lathered with the C&E BBB and made a single pass. Some Boosters Mosswood and I'm reasonably presentable.

Gillette fat-handled English Tech w/ Iridum Super blade
EverReady 500 silvertip
Prairie Creations Old Spice (formerly known as Mystery Soap)
Neutrogena Razor Defense balm
Old Spice cologne

This Prairie Creations soap does well by me. I see now why there was so much buzz about this stuff at first: not so sure why it has dropped off the radar lately...

Fantastic photo, as usual, Glenn. Those tomatoes are a nice touch. The razor looks pretty nice, too!

Thank you, Murray. Have you had an opportunity to try an English Tech? The shave seems a little bit more assertive than a US Tech. You might like it.

Hi Glenn -

I have an English Tech with the aluminum handle. I have thought about trying it with a different handle. I also need to try the triangular-holed Tech I got from you again, too. I've been experimenting quite a bit lately with the Feather All Stainless, iKon Bulldog, and Schick Injector, so I'll go back to the Edwin Jagger for awhile before I do another wave of trials.
