Clive that looks scrumptious! I'm definitely going to try it.
Are you cooking the original or a variation? And if a variation, which one?

I might have lived in Georgia for 22 years, but I was born in Texas, am back in Texas, and won't ever move away again. I can tell you - if you like beans in your chili (and I do) you put beans in your chili. I am not the only Texan who feels that way, either.Rufus wrote: ↑Wed Nov 18, 2020 5:46 am That looks and sounds really good, so I’ll give it a try. When I moved to Texas one of the first culinary taboos I learnt was that there are no beans in chili. After living there for 10 years, however, I still like beans in my chili, but I’d never tell my Texian friends and neighbours this. Now that I’m back in Canada I’m free to do as I wish.
I use my mom's family recipe for chili - and we love it, as do ALL my in-laws.

Last weekend I made some leek & potato soup, and today it was the turn of celery soup. Served with mini-pizzas of cut herbed buns dressed with homemade pesto, tomato slices and Swiss cheese.
I have the feeling that I can make a soup out of anything with a good strong stick blender!

Cabbage rolls. It's been a long time since I made these, and they turned out quite good. I'm definitely going to do this more often.

Chicken salad sandwiches. One of our family's all time favorites. Except it was just us. There were some smoked chicken breasts I had grilled earlier this summer in the freezer.

Bryan, that's been one of our favorites for a long time. We go through a lot of sauerkraut and sausage.

Tonight: hot chicken sandwich on sourdough with baby green peas and a sea of gravy. One of my all time favourites, which nourished me through university.

Always a special treat. We took our youngest daughter to dinner (steak, etc.) in honor of a work related achievement. Had a great time.
