That Vitamin Shoppe is right around the corner from me. As soon as you mentioned it, I new where it is. <hitting head on desk>

Awesome. You guys rock. I don't know why I wasted 30 minutes calling every drug store and walmart/target in the area. I should have known I'd get my answer in a few minutes here.

Thayer's Witch Hazel in B&M?

Why is Thayer's Witch Hazel so impossible to find in a brick & mortar shop? It's so inexpensive that I hate to pay S&H on it.

Does anyone know a shop in Southern CA that carries it, I'd certainly appreciate the info.

I've read this suggestion before but haven't tried it yet. I'll try it out after my C&E trials.

Dominic, where are you getting your Jojoba oil? I did a search and found a number of different kinds. Are you just using 100%? C&E has one listed as masage oil.

Hmmm...Interesting. Maybe that's why I got such a large sample. Maybe C&E requires more than I'm used to using. I've got enough for a high cream/water ratio for tomorrow. One more test... I LOVE the C&E Sandalwood. A/S balm. Amazing stuff. Not greasy at all. And the best part is that my wife...

I used quite a bit more water today with the same results. No lubrication. Anyone familiar with Nomad care to offer some thoughts? I understand the difference in water/cream ratio can make in lather quality. However, it's been fairly easy to adjust for all the other creams and soaps I've used. If so...

I used plenty of cream this time as they gave me a rather large sample. And like I said, loads of laterh. I'm wondering if this cream just needs more water than my Proraso, Taylors, or Arkko. The good thing is that I have plenty of the sample to try at least 4 days. I'll let you know if things chang...

Have you tried any of their other creams? Is it just a problem with Nomad?

Lack of lubrication with C&E Nomad?

I stopped by C&E yesterday and got a few samples. Today I tried the Nomad cream. The lather was top-notch and loads of it, but I found almost no lubrication at all. I did my normal pre-shave with a shower and 5 minutes of warm water. Used my Merkur DE and a Swedish Gillete. The problem was that ...

Their website says yes there is. I was just there at lunch today to get some samples from C&E. I completely forgot to take a look for the new store.

The place I go for cuts in Irvine, CA charges $45 for a straight shave. But then again, the haircuts are a little pricey as well.

I'd say minimally closer. The biggest plus, for me, for skipping a day is that it seems to let me skin recover a little more. It's like my face gets tired of shaving all week and needs a day off.

I live in Aliso Viejo (Orange County, near Laguna Beach). Anyone know of any shaving stores in the area? C&E and Target are the only ones I've found.

I was actually thinking about starting a thread like this. Like you, Sunday morning shaves are usually great because of the day off on Saturday. The other critical step, for me, is to NOT wash my face prior to shaving. I didn't wash this past weekend trying to recover from a terrible reaction to a c...

I used it on my chest a few years back. It worked fairly well as the hair did wipe right off. It was a rather disgusting experience from both a look and smell point of view. My biggest problem was shaving a few touch-up areas - very bad razor burn. My biggest complaint was the the hair grew back pre...
