I also smoked a pork butt yesterday. Had a pulled pork and tangy slaw and left over potato salad.

This style TTO went into production mid-1948 and Gillette began date coding again in 1951. This gives you a three year range on this razor. I got this info from Phil Krumholz's excellent book The Complete Gillette Collector's Handbook. He sells it on e-Bay under the name razorman2

I was in a C&E store in Rochester, NY this morning and picked up Sienna and Almond refill pucks. The Almond comes in 50g size for $5 and the Sienna and others are 100g for $8.

The blades in the dispenser also have the date code. If you make the assumption that those were the blades that came with the razor that will date it for you. I have a very nice Milord with the notch and the blades are marked T-4 which makes it late 1948.

If you want a really inexpensive way to see if you prefer building you later in a mug or on your face you can get a latte cup at Target for $2.99. If you watch mantic's videos the maroon mug he uses appears to be a latte cup.

K-MaN Welcome to SMF. I whole heartedly endorse all of the above advice, especially about getting and working the blade sampler packs. There is definately a difference in performance and what works for you will not work for someone else. As an aside, if you look at the base of your adjustable where ...

After posting the previous reply I thought I give my sensor a try today. Since I am mowing the lawn today and it's going into the low 80's I skipped my morning shower, washed my face twice with a good soap and lots of hot water, got my Proraso boar brush, Williams mug soap and lathered up my face. T...

I never could get a good shave with anything that had more than two blades and I did start with creams and a good brush and my Sensor. I still keep it around and just bought what is probably a life time supply of cartridges (25 for $27) at BJ's, a Sam's Club look alike. I use it when I have to get m...

A decade ago ISO 9001, Six Sigma and Black Belts were the rage in manufacturing. Now ISO 14001 is becoming the place to be in that it includes environmental management. Before I retired 5 years ago I was involved in all four of these "quality management" processes. As some of the previous ...

I'm glad to hear that Doug is on the road to recovery. I, however, am going the other way. Having "benefited" from Doug's purge I now have 14 razors. I learned about Target carrying Proraso so I have Proraso branded Omega boar brush and a Velfix super badger. I started my wet shaving with ...

Don't do this!!

I tried soap today for the first time after a couple of years of cream having picked up some William's at my local supermarket . I tried to follow all the suggestions from here, took my time and built a pretty good lather on my face. I did my usual two pass shave and got a clean, close shave but it ...

This morning I tried out the mug again. This time I used my Proraso tube which always works well for me and got a nice lather.
