No arguments about the quality of the GFT. I bought a tub on my very first shopping seizure nearly two years ago, It never fails to disappoint except I find that the scent is not as wonderful as most of the other old-line English creams. The bergamot and lemon immediately slap you in the face, and t...

Whoops!

So I decided to crack the tube of C&E Sweet Almond Oil cream I Ebay'd recently. It smelled great, and lathered like a dream. Did the usual prep work, pulled out my trusty 38C loaded with a Feather that I'd changed before yesterday's shave, and proceeded to go at it. Whoops -- big weeper at the b...

I received my Floris soaps within a week of ordering them. The boxes looked a little squashed, but the soaps were brand new. And for that price, who's gonna complain about the boxes anyway?

I've been wearing Spery's for more than 30 years, sockless of course, with khakis, reds, Levi's 501s, short, etc. An absolute classic shoe.

Heck, look at my avatar!

Ah well... Ordered a refill in each scent yesterday. Got the order confirmation via email, so we'll just have to see what happens with the actual order.

Typically, ASBs contain ingredients meant first and foremost to soothe the skin left naked from a fresh shave, and incidentally contain some moisturizing ingredients. Moisturizers, on the other hand, simply exist to provide extra protection to dry skin. Note the primary difference in their functions...

Can't believe I read this!

On the review of the Braun Pulsonic, from an unnamed shaving site that is probably unknown to most wetshavers. "The vibrations are similar to the way the Gillette Fusion or Mach3 Power vibrates, which in all our testing here at ********** yielded a better and more comfortable shave ." (Bol...

Gareth, if you suffered from dry skin, you'd not need ask this question. :D Be happy you can shave without the need for a moisturizer. Everyone's skin is different, so if you don't need a moisturizer, then don't fret about it. But... As the drier winter months approach, you may find your skin changi...

Yup, most bathroom lights tend to be flattering, hence the need for those lighted makeup mirrors that are marketed to the gals so they can get a better idea of how their makeup looks. If I put one of those on my vanity, my lovely bride would likely (1) laugh till she blows Diet Coke thru her patrici...

You know I was gonna play, definitely being a bit north of Sam's requirement

But since Bob Seger, Pink Floyd and Zeppelin aren't exactly new, then I s'pose I'm not invited to the game.

I tried the Jack Black last year when I was fairly new to wetshaving. Could have been my newbie technique, but I clearly remember feeling the shaves were rougher than when I used Proraso. I was never a fan of the Proraso scent, but I didn't care for JB scent either. Having recently tried some JB sam...

Every few months (usually following a sarcastic comment from Mrs. JLM) I make a promise to pare down my collection; perhaps donating items to those unfortunates who've never heard of wetshaving. Then AD hits me. I read a new review on SMF or B&B, and a few days later the friendly UPS man is at t...

I bought samples of the NB face wash and after-shave shave gel as well as a full-sized tub of the replenishing facial moisturizer a month or so ago. Normally I, ummm, attempt to conceal my purchases from SWMBO, but she saw me using the face wash and laughed her rather cute little backside off at the...

Mine is Dalwhinnie 15 y/o. Mid-priced at $50 at my local liquor emporium, and oh-so-smooooooth. It's aromatic, light on the peat, with some heathery notes on the finish.

Neat (ok, with three or four drops of water), and it's a bit of heaven on earth.

If you're going to experiment with different types of soaps, creams, balms, lotions, scrubs, etc you'll need to be very, very patient. Most people's skin needs anywhere from several days to several weeks to adjust to changes in all these potions, but as it's been said many times on the boards just t...
