Sweet...from what I understand if you need a replacement part the watchmaker would have to make it himself. So yeah....$500 seems like a bargin. Just don't let him steal all the jewels out of your watch! :P

A fusee watch is a whole 'nother animal! I believe I read something where the guy from IWW is on vacation for the next week or so. You might not get a reply right away....but you can do a search on the watch forums and get the impression that he is THE guy to send your watches to for servicing. Watc...

Wow....$250 sounds really high to clean a watch. Have you checked other places? There is a really good place I have read about on several websites called Industrial Watch Works. http://www.industrialwatchworks.com/ . Their basic service for a stem wind watch is $50. You might contact them and see if...

Thanks! All great suggestions.
Is there actually a Red Wing store that sell nothing but Red Wing or are you talking about an authorized retailor?

Boots

Has anyone ever own a pair of Red Wings or Chippewa boots? I am looking for a nice pair of work/kicking-around boots that are made in the USA with a vintage look to them. I have found a couple of styles from both Chippewa and Red Wing that I really like. My favorites are a pair of Red Wings that are...

Thanks Mark.....I wish I had found the Groom and Clean years ago!

When I use tonics I will generally appy them first but if I don't get the shine I want I will just spray a little tonic on top of the GAC and comb it through...Can't tell too much of a difference myself.

I suffered from heartburn for years. I would never leave the house without a roll of Tums or Rolaids! I would use the baking soda method all the time but I would just mix about a teaspoon full with a glass of water and drink it all down. I thought the baking soda worked WAY BETTER than the Tums or w...

What did I buy? Art Deco Gillette?

I found an interesting Gillette Safety Razor this weekend and curious if anyone could give me any more information. It is a twist to open model with an extra long handle. The handle is probably an inch longer than the regular super-speed model and the thickness is about the same as a heavy duty adju...
