Re: Wet Shaving and the Internet
Lots of skeletons in that closet. When you mentioned Giovanni it brought back some memories! Every hobby forum has its same host of characters and some hobbies have a higher concentration of testosterone induced idiocy than others (check the pickup truck forums for instance, or <shudder> the gun for...

Re: simpson's have improved
I've found myself enjoying an entirely different class of brush after spending many years with my Omega boar brush. I have a ridiculous number of old Simpsons - not old as in antique, but nearly all made in Somerset. I used to like the Chubby 2 best of all, and also like the larger Polos and Persia...

Just Pulled Out Some Straight Razors Again...
And it’s clear that some idiot didn’t store them properly after some years of neglect... #-o A few small surface rust spots here and there, superficial, nothing deep. What’s the best way to go about restoring their former shaving glory from this long standing SMF’er who recently rediscovered that he...

This is a game I really want to understand the advanced concepts to learn how to solve difficult puzzles, but it sadly makes me realize that I don’t math well.

Re: Lentils
Chris, I would be interested in your chickpea curry recipe. I sometimes buy it ready-made in a packet. I mentioned lentils because they are pretty easy (you don't have to pre-soak them!). I sometimes make a dahl from a recipe from "How to Cook Everything". 1 Cup of Lentils, 3 cups liquid (...

Re: 9 years ago today I joined SMF
Richard (rustyblade) and I have a very slight connection as I once bought his massive shedding Tulip 4 back in 2007? Loved that brush and never should have sold it but it went out in a massive den clearing when I decided to give up DE shaving and embark on straight razors. I sold it and a huge lot ...

I was a 28 year old baby with a bad shave when I joined. Now I'm an old man approaching 40 with slightly less hair but much more handsome if I do say so!

Lentils
With the prices of food in Canada reaching historic proportions...and meat going even higher... The frugal old curmudgeon in me wants to cook more lentils. Problem is most dishes just seem to end up tasting...bleh or overly similar to every other lentil dish I've cooked. I've made lentil curries whi...

I stocked up on old AOS years ago after one of the first rumours of a reformulation hit the airwaves. I felt silly...but several years later it was reformulated. Vindicated!

Re: Mitchell's Wool Fat
I've taken to rubbing the wet cake of MWF directly on my wet face, as I do with my sticks of soap. It works well for me and virtually eliminates the frustrations I had when loading my brush directly from the cake. When all else fails, the "shaving stick" method works, a.k.a "super co...
