Thanks for all the replies, especially from the Vulfix factory. Really nice to see industry folks listening to their customers! I just wanted to say that I really appreciate the great customer service from Simpson's with my previous Colonel. I didn't think I had done anything to harm the brush but I...

New Simpson Colonelbrush break-in

Any tips on breaking in a new Simpson Colonel? Sent my original Colonel back to Simpson and they replaced it. Want to make sure I do everything right.

I sent mine in yesterday after going to the post office. $16 Priority Mail. UPS Stores must be crazy or the lady put something in wrong.

Help: Shipping a Simpson back to factory

I've read where some of you mention shipping a brush back to the manufacturer. I have a Simpson that was shedding and wanted Simpson's to check it out. Went to local UPS Store and they quoted me $130 for UPS or $65 via Postal priority mail. Holy crap! I can buy a new brush cheaper! What have you all...

I'll try and see what comes out. I always hang it in my razor/brush stand whick sits on my bathroom counter in a newer, climate controlled house to dry. I shave about every 1-2 days.
Thanks,

Brush help needed

Help! My Simpson Colonel that I bought about a year ago has started shedding bristles. I have been finding 2-4 per shave. This started about 3 weeks ago. I've only used Harris soap with it. I use this as my everyday brush so I is used 4-5 times per week. I haven't used any cleaners or other chemical...

Yep, I still have it. Priority mail is definitely an option. I will check the price to ship it to your ZIP code if you are interested. The knot I believe is the standard 22mm knot for the 2234. Let me know if you are interested. This is a great brush, just not exactly what I was looking for. Thanks,...

Wow, I never knew we had so many wet-shaving, fedora-wearing, cane wavers. I don't feel quite so eclectic, bummer :D Oh, well, it is nice to know I'll have company in the asylum.

FYI: Vulfix 2234 in Super Badger

Jed, While I appreciate the sentiment, and have no doubt your heart's in the right place, your post in the Sales/Trades section is sufficent. Best of luck with that.

I couldn't agree more but my wife may be horrified to know that there are that many others who share the same combination of obsessions as I.

I highly recommend the Victorinox Deluxe Tinker model. I absolutely love the small pliers on this model. Be careful, knives can be addictive!

Oh boy, you just had to start a thread on one of my other obsessions, didn't you. I have to say I am very much envious of your Fawcett fedoras. I have been admiring them for several years on www.thefedoralounge.com . Mighty fine place to learn about hats there. SRD, in your avatar, you wouldn;t be p...

I figured it out. I downloaded the Photobucket app and then uploaded the pics from my iPhone to photobucket. I then added the photobucket URL like always. Just thought I'd reply in case anyone else wanted to know.

Hello gents, being offered for sale to SMF members first is my recently purchased Vulfix 2234 in Super Badger. I have used this brush only once and am asking $40 plus UPS shipping to your ZIP. Help: Posting pics from iPhone to message board

Please excuse my ignorance, but does anyone know how to post pics taken on an iPhone and post them on the message board? I have a photobucket account for pics from my camera but I was wondering if there was a quick way directly from the iPhone. Thanks, Jed

Kirasdad, I, too, have become a fedora afficionado over the past few years. Being that we both wear the almost impossible to find 7 5/8 hat size I thought I might share a recent find of currently manufactured hats from the Akubra company. They make a model that is a direct copy of the vintage Stetso...

Help: Difference between 2 band and 3 band Badger brushes?

Pardon my ignorance brethren, but what is meant by the terms "2-band badger" and "3-band Badger" brushes? I understand these to be high grades of badger hair to use in finer brushes but how does one distinguish these levels and what, besides appearance, is the difference between ...

Simpson Colonel X2L Help

I am looking to buy my first good brush and mainly use soaps. I have a Vulfix 2234 on order but am now wondering if the Simpson in Best Badger for $10 more is a better brush for me? Mainly concerned with performance on soaps. Anyone have any experience with this model or the Commodore models? Thanks...
