hot shower before a shave. as soon as i jump into the shower, i wash my face and apply conditioner which is washed off at the end of the shower. leave face wet, apply proraso pre shave balm and lather up directly on face. i do 2 passes, WTG and XTG + ATG in the neck area only. rinse with cold water ...

I use running water, turning it on briefly to rinse the razor. It rinses the razor much more effectively than a sink full of soapy water and I don't have to clean out the sink afterwards. - Murray ditto !!!! i use cold water to rinse the razor and keep a mug filled with hot water to rinse the razor...
