One of many favorite songs from the past

Just in case anyone still remembers the mid-1950s television series "77 Sunset Strip", here's a very young Dick Clark introducing Ed Byrnes and Connie Stephens as they perform their hit song that originated with Mr. Byrnes' character "Kookie".

I just rediscovered yet another favorite song that I can relate to. I've spent time with some great people in Texas and Louisiana. Served in the military with some great guys from these two great states, among others. A few called themselves Coon-Ass, and if you've been there, you know what that term means. I love this hit song from Charlie Daniels, recently deceased. I can listen to it two or three times in a row if I'm in the mood. Hope you enjoy it too! :D

In 2010 I heard Akon's I can't wait for the 1st time. It was awesome. Since then I have listened to this track for over 200 times :)
