Mobile Barber Shop

Feel free to post anything unrelated to wet shaving or men's grooming (I.e. cars, watches, pens, leather goods. You know, the finer things of life).

Mobile Barber Shop

Post by drmoss_ca »

Elin Yakov builds limousines in Toronto, and restores old Triumphs (his 'rusty beauties') on the side. This video shows a specialist vehicle he has just completed which would make for a decent shave and a haircut when on the road:

This is a brilliant concept. One result of our current difficulties, it seems our hair/nail care professionals have closed temporarily (deemed non-essential). Mine is a good friend and happens to be a relatively recent widow. She runs a small shop where, in addition to her own booth, she rents to several other folks in the same business. Her livelihood, and theirs, depends heavily on their daily receipts. She and they have simply moved their individual practices into their homes. I visited mine last week, as previously scheduled. Regular customers who wish to do so are invited to show up by appointment only, one at a time, and hopefully the bills get paid this month! Hoc quoque transibit!

This is a great concept! I needed a haircut BEFORE the lockdown and am now beginning to look like Mike the Mountain Man. We are in a retirement community of 800, and I bet that a mobile barber shop would do really well here. It may be a viable business plan because rent (probably a barber's biggest expense) is eliminated.
