Thursday's two day growth has been successfully removed by the Rugby " Superior Quality Best Silver Steel " straight razor. I applied the thorough and somewhat intense honing yesterday with some highly regarded stones and with the benefit of Dr. Chris' flawlessly proven honing process for certain difficult to sharpen razors in mind. Keep in mind, this old razor is nothing more than just that. Not an expensive custom and immaculate fit and finish. It's just an old cheap and dull flea market relic. I think I probably paid about $14 for it about 7 or 8 years ago. What can I say? So what? Well, it worked. Regardless of the razor's (any razor for that matter) history and condition I shall be planning to shave again to address Sunday morning's inevitable 3 day growth, just like always. Same as any other competently sharp razor on the face of the earth. No complaints from me! :D

In spite of Thursday's close shave from a sharp razor all of the same whiskers came right back laughing at my razor and me. I had no choice but to try again this morning. 😳

Sunday night:

Razor: Rockwell 6C, on plate 2
Blade: Treet Dura Sharp

Brush: Semogue 1305
Soap: Mystic Water Lime

Lather made on top of the soap
Three passes

Aftershave: Cold water rinse and Thayer's Peach Witch Hazel

Back to the Rockwell razor that works so well for me. Maybe I should have given the Henson more of an effort, but it seemed like it would take a long time to adjust to it, if I ever did.
