My first purchase of the decade: an extremely rare 200ml bottle of vintage Penhaligon's Florimelle Hair Dressing, probably dating from the 80s.

(Not my picture, the bottle hasn't arrived yet.)

A beautiful Paradigm 17-4 DE razor arrived today.  I'm looking forward to using it and comparing it to my Titanium II.

Two more Rooney Finests have joined the brush family.  Duplicates of ones I had, but barely used at all and in beautiful condition.  I'll probably alternate them with their matches so that I get to see and use all of them.

Christmas in July!
Last August I had won a PIF of shaving stuff. The piffer (?) had packed it up for me, but forgot to actually send it. I had forgotten about it too, and didn't remember what was in it. Last week he emails me to say that he had discovered the box during some reorganizing, and popped in in the mail. I said, "Gee thanks, don't tell me what's in it, I want to be surprised".
Today SWMBO comes back from the post office with this large heavy box and *fluttering eyelashes* asks me "Is this a present for me?"
I say "... Maybe?"

I got to work with scissors and took almost an hour to excavate and sniff the contents.
Late PIF box contents.

24 different soaps, from one-shot Truefitt & Hill samples to a new 5.8 oz tub of Stirling "Sharp Dressed Man";
9 aftershave splashes and balms;
3 packs of DE blades;
1 tube of Avon Black Suede hair and body wash.

The really nice thing is that all but 5 of the products are ones I have never tried, and 7 of the new-to-me items have been on the wish lists on my Fendrihan and Italian Barber accounts.

For the past month or so I've only been shaving every other day. I'm going to have to go back to daily shaves just to try everything out.

Indeed. The only problem is that now I cannot easily justify ordering more stuff.
Well, I suppose I can wait for that badger knot/faux amber handle brush to be back in stock at Fendrihan.

:) Good News - The brush is back in stock, so I did order it. Easier than I thought. :wink:
:( Bad News - The Tabac was out of stock, so my order was delayed.

Only 7 days since placing the order.

Both the tax and postage (CAD$3.21) were included in the CAD$7.95 per 100 blades price.

The box looks like a single tuck of giant blades.

Finally, the good stuff.
The 3-panel box unfolds into this:

Each tuck has a slot on the back and they slide over a die-cut tab in the folding box, so as to keep them from shifting around all over the place.

I got nuttin'.
A Fendrihan order was supposed to be delivered Friday, and made it to a processing centre 37 km away the night before, but it didn't make it to my local PO. Usually it does.
Now I gotta wait until Monday.

I get the feeling when I browse the fendrihan.ca site, that they might be on the way out. Lots of things out of stock and it doesn't look like that changes ie they don't restock the item. I hope I'm wrong as they have been useful.

I dunno about that.
I recently ordered four items. One of them was a brush with a particular handle colour that was out of stock for a long time, but they got some more in so I placed my order. I failed to notice that another item (Tabac soap, in the ceramic tub) had just gone out of stock before I placed the order, so the shipment was delayed a week until they got more in. Now the Tabac is out of stock again, it seems.

They might merely be cutting it too close with "just-in-time-delivery" inventory management during the pandemic shipping delays.

They have dropped some Fendrihan-branded items once in a while, but they usually eventually restock the standard products. They're still introducing new stuff, like their own brand of "Made in England" shaving cream in tubs. I suspect they it be made by TOBS, because the "Sandalwood" feels and smell identical. Their "Aloe Water" shaving cream is really nice.
