This week my almost 14 yr. old grandson was out of school for spring break. He spent the day with me and I was inspired to show him how to make my famous blue ribbon winning whole wheat bagels. He did all the work and I was just narrating as we followed the recipe. The result was outstanding. He had already been showing an interest in cooking at his house, and I figured this would be a good project. A couple of years ago I taught his older sister how to make the blue ribbon cheesecake.

Re: Whole wheat bagels
Gary, this is a great post. It’s important to teach young folks to cook and to encourage those who already show an interest in it. I cooked a lot with my youngest daughter (who is now 32) and today she is a fine cook. Good work!
Best regards,
Basil
