Vídeo : How to clean a shaving brush

Post by Teiste »

To clean a natural hair shaving brush (badger , boar or horse) of soap scum is very easy with warm water and also white vinegar as I show you here.

Do this if you live in an area with very hard water to preserve the life and performance of your shaving brush , at least , every 6 months.

Yes, another good one. You make it look easy to create a good video.

Question, is there a reason to think one would not use this method to clean a synthetic knot, or is it an unintentional omission?

Thanks , my friend

I must admit that I don't clean the synthetic brushes at all.I don't experience that problem with synthetic knots and hard water as I do with natural hair brushes and hard water. But I'm sure this method will also work for synthetic brushes.

Had a bad experience with using vinegar to clean a badger brush. Maybe I didn't rinse it thoroughly enough but for the next few+ shaves the lather would disintegrate. Now it's just warm water. Same with running my shaving bowl (over-sized Cappuccino bowl $1) through the dishwasher. Too much residual detergent with the same effect.
