Tuesday-
Back to a DE....

Vintage Merkur Progress w/ new Ascalon blade
Kent T12
QED Neroli shave soap
Baxter Mint Toner
Hawaiian Tropic Aloe Vera
T&H Clubman EDT (sample)

I'm back to a DE for a bit adn I really enjoy it. I have to say I agree with the Shavemeister's who mentioned that starting with a SE razor then moving to a DE is a good thing. My technique is better and my shaves are so much more comfortable. Thankyou guys. I truly appreciate the advice.

It isn't a SS, it is my Wilkinson Sword razor. :)
Ah. That explains. It was a little too shiny for even a minty SS. What ARE those things made of? Adamantium? They apparently cannot be scratched.
Yeah, they are well made and finished razors. British design and manufacture, of course.

Richard - it is a bit of a strange mix - it smells VERY traditional when it first goes on, but the dry down is very nice and a bit complex. I never like it when it first goes on but really start to dig it after a few minutes. This is my second date cologne

Ravi, i'm guessing you don't need a cologne if you get to a third date, being the debonair chap that you are?

Richard, 127 is interesting and my thoughts are similar to Ravi's: i don't really like it that much for the first 20 minutes or so, but then it takes on a rich and dreamy aura.....yes, i can see why this would be a good second date scent. I vote for Ravi to use Castile for the third date; it is very sensual and will, how shall i put it, ........seal the deal. Women of the North beware!

Best,

Interesting, those were my thoughts exactly. When you first spray it..

My take on Special 127: take classic Eau de Cologne, brighten the citrus top even more with an orange rind type citrus, add some nice rose to the heart, and give it a slightly powdery, woody base. I like it, especially while the rose lasts. Wearable my men and women.

Mon & Tues:
  • Gillette 40s Super Speed / Feather blade
  • D.R. Harris Best Badger
  • Crabtree & Evelyn Almond Shaving Soap / Williams Mug Shaving Soap
  • Rosehip seed oil blend & sandalwood hydrosol
  • Montale Black Aoud / Penhaligon's English Fern EdT
