Monday:

40s Gillette SuperSpeed
Gillette Platinum Swede
T&H Luxury Soap
Vulfix #2190
Alum
EtOH / WH

Result: A

This shave showed me that Merkur blades are a dog of a blade for me. A fresh sample in this razor was tugging and pulling all over the place. I had completed one cheek when I changed to the Swede blade to confirm that the Merkur blade being bad for my thick beard is not an isolated thing.

I have about 7 Merkurs that I would be happy to swap for Feather/Gillette/IP/Derby.

Aristocrat #66 w/Swede
Simpson PL8
Mitchell's Wool Fat
Cold water

My first time using MWF. Very pleasant, clean scent, even better performance. Now I see what all the fuss is about. Markedly different than AOS, but just as good a shave in my book.

Monday:

Razor: Bic Sensitive Skin Disposable
Cream: Palmolive Shave Cream
Brush: Omega Stripey Badger
A/S: Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel and Nivea Sensitive Skin A/S Balm

Took the easy route this morning. Got a pretty decent shave. I really love the scent of the Palmolive. I started out using some Burt's Bees shave cream but I couldn't even get any lather in the bowl. Horrid.

Scott, its a shame they're no longer making that Palmolive. It works great, and I for one loved the scent, too. Its no old school English cream. Its something quite different, a basic, no frills classic in its own way. Gald you're liking it. I think I'll start out the year tonight with some, too.

Scott,

If its the Burts Bees "Natural" shave cream it is a brushless cream, and not a bad one at that (as far as brushless goes)
