Gillette Old OC
Shark SC (3)
Coates (Simpson) Fitzwilliam, pure
Cella croap
Harris Pink
With all the current attention focussed on the new Muhle R41, I can't help but think it was outdone 70-80 years ago by the Gillette Old. The more things change, the more they stay the same, and all that.

Pre-shave soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Razor: Merkur 23C
Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
Brush: EJ Best Badger
Soap: Pre de Provence
A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, 4711 Splash
I always enjoy using the PdP soap. I wish they also sold an aftershave splash with the same scent. I have the PdP balm, but prefer to use that in the winter when the air is very dry. Even without the balm, the PdP soap with its shea butter leaves my face feeling very soft and comfortable. The bottom line today: Great shave!

Razor: iKon Modern
Blade: Super Iridium
Brush: H.L. Thater Porter
Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Soap: Trumper Limes
A/S: Trumper Extract of Limes
I could not help myself and "adopted" a new Thater brush...the Porter. It did a great job of ginning up the lather from the Trumper lime soap and held enough lather for my three pass shave. The iKon Modern, paired with a fresh Iridium, was a joy to use. The sharper Iridium blade let this razor shine. I enjoyed a BBS shave followed by a refreshing splash of Trumper Limes aftershave. Pure decadence.

Musgo Real Glyce Lime
1918 Old Type
Schick Plus Platinum (3)
Plisson #16 HMW
AOS unscented creme
Eau d'Emeraude splash
BBS. I skipped a shave and the Old performed very well. Modern blades protrude from each end of the razor head a few millimeters but it just wasn't an issue. This razor seems like it will be able to zap through my Monday morning beard (sometimes 2 days growth) with no problems. This was my first OC shave so its difficult for me to compare to other OCs but it was a very pleasant shave with this blade. I want to say this is a mild OC but I just don't have enough experience to be able to assert that. The small size of the razor and the blade exposure makes this a very precise shaver and blocked off my sideburns better than any other razor I've used. It would be a great goatee trimmer.
