Let's talk about single and double edged razors and the blades that they use.

That was my thought also shavegolfer, I bought a second as a backup. Never used it though, the first one will outlast me.

One reason not to buy it is that it is one of the ugliest razors made IMO. It looks more like some kind of surgical appliance. I don't doubt it does a great job of shaving but then so does an electric razor.

The main reason I wouldn't buy one is if somebody gave me one.

Well, I ended up not getting one for now, mainly because it is an adjustable and that is just one more thing I would have to figure out. I did end up buying a Weber razor which I am happy with so far. To justify this purchase I gave away my Merkur Classic.
As an aside, I don't see much about the Weber razor on our forum, but I find this razor makes blades seem much sharper than my other razors. I have bladed down from a Gillette Yellow to a Derby with no problem. Heck, this razor may make Merkur blades bearable!

Been there, done that, 3 different times. Believe me, no regrets.

I also love my Futur, it shaves so smooth and is practically irritation free.
