L'Occitane Shaving Cream is Amazing!
Hi Gents,
This is my third time I shave with L"Occitane Cade Shaving Cream on 1 .oz small tube and it was the best shave I ever had. Yes! I love it! it was so smooth after I rinse off with cold water and WOW! what a great feeling I had. This is going to be my favorite shaving cream ever. I just ordered the large siize tube 2.5 .oz tube from ebay. I found the cheaper one $26.00 plus free shipping. The actual price from L'Occitane website and the store is $28.00 and also I tried the Cade Aftershave Balm on sample and it was really amazing. I feel my skins feel so smooth like baby butt.
Does anyone have an experience with Cade Shaving Cream on New formulation? I'm so into Shea Butter that make your skin feeel comfortable and smooth shave.
Please feel free for nice comments about me and anyone that try or have experience with it. Again, This is the best L'Occitane Cade Shaving Cream ever!. I started became an obessed with. I love L'Occitane! My favorite company.

Recently the Cade Shaving Cream has been reformulated which means: NEW Thicker and Creamier Improved Formula from previously old formulated. The scents ingredients listed are: Cade essential oils. It smells really nice. This is the best shaving cream ever. Clive, try using it again and see the how the difference from old formulated. It has SHEA BUTTER. You won't be dissapointed I know. It great for all year round especiallly for the winter time!

Guys,
Here is the things: The shaving creams says on the outer box on the bottom side when you turn upside down: 12 months (One Year). Also, it had both French and English description about the shaving cream itself. On the English side it says:
Juniper is a shrub that grows in the provencal hillside. When distilled, its wood yields a precious oil that was traditionally used by sheperds for tis antiseptic, healing properties.
L'OCCITIANE has developed a patented complex with a base of CADE - wild juniper - essential oil in response to the specific needs of men's skin:
* PURIFYING: itregulates the secretion of sebum and prevents the spread of bacteria
* STIMULATING: it fortifes and protects the skin from external irritants
On the back of the box it says:
Shaving Cream: This cream transforms itself into a luxurious mousse. CADE complex is combined with the nourishing shea butter and moisturizing* glycerine to ensure a smooth shave. It leaves skin clean ansd smooth.
To use: Wet the face with hot water. Apply a nut-size amount of cream too the beard. Create a luxurious lather by massaging, or with a shaving brush that has been dipped in warm water.
*moisturizes the upper layers of the epidermis.
On the front of the box it says:
Creme A Raser
CADE JUNIPERUS OXYCEDRUS SHAVING CREAM
POUR HOMME-FOR MEN
L'huile essentielle de Cade,
bois precieux provencal,

Well, maybe this is an example of a successful reformulation. I really hope that is the case. Chris certainly seems happy with it. One can't maintain too much optimism these days when it seems just about every "new and improved" shaving cream, soap, or fragrance, is really "new and bad-to-mediocre".

SOTD 99%: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, soaps & creams, synthetic / badger brushes, Colonial General razor, Kai & Schick blades, straight razors any time, Superior 70 aftershave splash + menthol + 444

OK chaps, I'll take it upon myself to visit my local L' Occitiane shop and procure a tube of the supposed reformulated shaving cream and report back. I am, however, sceptical that it is improved, as Gary said, but I'm willing to give it a second chance. With any luck I'll be able to get a sampler of it rather than having to drop +$20 for a tube. Stay tuned...the proof is in the shaving.brothers wrote:Well, maybe this is an example of a successful reformulation. I really hope that is the case. Chris certainly seems happy with it. Sorry chaps, but I'm reneging on my undertaking to test out the supposedly reformulated Cade shaving cream. I visited my local L' Occitane shop earlier this afternoon and quizzed the two shop assistants on the reformulation of the Cade cream. They were emphatic that Cade has not been reformulated in the last three years. Since a tube of Cade shaving cream costs nearly $33, with tax, and given my dissatisfaction with my last tube, I could see no point in pursuing this matter further under the circumstances.

Bryan, Well I certainly understand your reluctance under the circumstances ( chuckle ). I'm certainly not willing for much the same reason(s). I tried the L'Occitane shave cream prior to the introduction of the 'Cade' scent and it was bloody awful; one of the worst shave products I've ever used regardless of price. But that was quite awhile ago so perhaps they have tightened up their act. But because of my prior experiances, the very high price, and fact that I don't care for the scent, I'm personally unwilling to check this out. Hopefully someone else will be willing to cough up the dough and see if they have a similiar take to Chris'.....or not.

L'Occitane shave cream has indeed been reformulated, and I believe it to now be an excellent product. You will find a number under the right side of the barcode on the box (the end I think). For the reformulated version the number should read 164853. I have been using the new stuff for a while, and it lathers beautifully, smells nice (I like the Cade scent) and is worth the high cost. If interested, see my thread below on this topic (page 4 I believe).

Thank you John.N. It seems the memo on the reformulation of the Cade shaving cream hasn't arrived in Canada yet, or at least not at my local L' Occitane shop; on the other hand perhaps it has, but the two clerks I was speaking to haven't read it yet...surprise, surprise. I shall be duly informing the two young ladies about the error of their ways in the near future.

Do we really believe most sales people know anything about the products they sell?Rufus wrote:Thank you John.N. Even among those who seem knowledgable, I have NEVER heard a salesperson acknowledge any "reformulation".
Typically, they will swear on their life that "...X...has never been reformulated!"
This gets rather comical at the perfume counter.
The current Gerlain catalog doesn't mention "oakmoss", when a few years ago it was universally acknowledged that this ingediant was the customary binder in most of the line (and it was clearly mentioned in the earlier catalogs). So, is it there, or isn't it? You won't get a straight answer.
There are many credible sources claiming that many of the most famous perfumes (i.e. Shalimar) have been reformulated numerous times.
Furthermore, there are many famous fragrances still in circulation that are either a mere shadow former versions, or nothing like
what was purchased years before!
One of the few "reformulations" admitted by grooming products is the "New and Improved" claim, which often means nothing more than ...the quantity (if not quality) has been decreased and the price increased.

Andy
