SOTD April 17 - April 23, 2023

Post by brothers »

Monday morning
Finished off the tube of DRH Arlington;
Zenith boar brush is perfect for creams, as always;
The heavy 3 day beard growth was easily removed by the Noxzema Kai twin blade disposable razor.

Came across a new tub of Caswell Massey Almond brushless shaving cream a while back. Brushless in the sense that any effort to use a brush is absolutely fruitless and frustrating. Just use your fingers and enjoy the shave. The fragrance is great, the cream is slick, and the results - in my opinion - are very good.

This was the 4th shave with the Noxzema Kai twin blade disposable razor.

Followed up with a generous splash of Superior 70 Mentolado, this morning's shave is worth a post on the SOTD. Cheers!

Friday, already!

I've got another April week to experience the remaining 3 DRH shaving creams as managed by the trustworthy Zenith boar brush before moving on to a couple of soaps, and giving the Zenith a well-deserved rest.
I confess I forgot that I wanted to use the Zenith this morning, and applied the DRH Eucalyptus by rubbing it on my face!
The 5th consecutive shave with the Noxzema Kai twin blade turned out to be just as good as it gets.
Now I'm looking forward to Monday's shave which will include the boar brush. Unless I forget again! #-o

Shavemac 2-band silvertip
Dr. Selby hard shaving soap
RR Gamechanger .84-P DE
Gillette Platinum shave #7
Thayer's Original wh splash
Dior Sauvage Elixir Parfum

This Dior stuff is not my bag at all. It's all the most overbearing elements of 80s powerhouse frags (with none of the panache) laid atop all of the scratchy and overbearing elements of 2010s "blue" frags (so much norlimbanol). Huge disappointment given the many positive recommendations I'd seen for lovers of older scents.

The Dr. Selby soap continues to wow me. I've been pushing it to see how much water it can take on. I haven't found an upper limit yet. Superb stuff.
Regards,
Tim
